Rudy Giuliani and 9/11?
It is so stupid how people believe Giuliani was in on 9/11. "Sixteen hours had passed since the Twin Towers crumbled and fell, and people kept telling Rudy Giuliani to get some rest. The indomitable mayor of New York City had spent the day and night holding his town together. He arrived at the World Trade Center just after the second plane hit, watched human beings drop from the sky and--when the south tower imploded--nearly got trapped inside his makeshift command center near the site. Then he led a battered platoon of city officials, reporters and civilians north through the blizzard of ash and smoke, and a detective jimmied open the door to a firehouse so the mayor could revive his government there. Giuliani took to the airwaves to calm and reassure his people, made a few hundred rapid-fire decisions about the security and rescue operations, toured hospitals to comfort the families of the missing and made four more visits to the apocalyptic attack scene." Rudy 4 Pres u agree?
Public Comments
- im a republican and i hate him
- I don't think he did anything extraordinary. He did what anybody with 1/2 a conscious would have done...mayor or not. On 9/11 there were a lot of people doing what he did and more.
- republicans would hate him becuse he shows how a true statesman would behave not like the pathetic Bush and the disaster of new orleans
- Rudy is the epitome of the "Urban Conservative." Tough on crime, fiscally responsible, yet liberal on important social issues like abortion and gay rights. I agree with Rudy on almost every political issue.
- Rudy has a problem with social conservatives due to his adultery, prochoice and pro gay beliefs. Will make it hard for him to get the nomination. Also, it was pretty stupid of him to have his command center at the WTC. And, he tried to suspend the mayoral election and keep himself in power in 2001, also a bad move. Yeah, he did a good job at 9/11, but he has his negatives.
- He done one hell of ajob an if he was a dem i would vote for him in a heart beat but you are what you run with so he is a crook to
- The mayor of New york only did his job. The hero's here are the policemen, the firefighters, the rescue people and any others who tried to save lives. All I saw was the mayor touring the devistated site and if he tried to console people that were hurt well that's what he is getting paid for, it's part of his responsibility to do what he did. As for him becoming president I hope to God we get one that will be able to mend this country back togeather with other nations as we are now the most hated country on earth. I just don't think Rudy Giuliani has what it takes to do that.
- that man is just a man and he did what had to be done... he did the best he could... and he did what was necessary.... thanks to him... God bless.
- Maybe if we learned a little more about him. Right now, we don't know anything about Giuliani's experience other than his term as NYC mayor. We don't know his platform, or what his views are other than he is a republican. He did his job on 9/11, which is less than I can say that Bush did for Katrina victims. But that alone does not qualify him for president. And would the people support a divorced candidate who left his wife for another and much younger woman? Seems like that may be too much for the neocons. I do think though, that Giuliani would do more for the people of America than say, McCain. There's just something about that guy I really do not like.
- 16 hrs .......wow.........a super hero. Hard to believe he is of the human race.
- I'm sure he had a foot in it somewhere. GWB and Rudy with the rest (including) Bin Laden. For Pres.....enough Rep.
- So why wasn't he in his multi-million dollar command centre in WTC 7. Why did he allow all the evidence to be shipped away before any investigation could take place - a legal requirement after an air accident. It looks like he did a good cover up job.
