Who are you gonna vote for President in 2008 and why?
I think that a lot of people are going to make mistakes and vote for the minority. I think that women are going to vote for Hillary just because she's a women, and african americans are going to vote for Obama just because he is african american. I don't know who I am going to vote for, this will be the first time I am allowed to. Democrats Joe Biden-http://www.joebiden.com/home Hillary Clinton-http://www.hillaryclinton.com/?splash=1 Chris Dodd-http://www.chrisdodd.com/home John Edwards-http://johnedwards.com/ Dennis Kucinich-http://kucinich.us/ Barack Obama-http://www.barackobama.com/ Bill Richardson-http://www.richardsonforpresident.com/home Republicans Sam Brownback-http://www.brownback.com/s/ Rudy Giuliani-http://www.joinrudy2008.com/index.php Mike Huckabee-http://www.explorehuckabee.com/ Duncan Hunter-http://www.gohunter08.com/ John McCain-http://www.johnmccain.com/ Mitt Romney-http://www.mittromney.com/HomePage Tom Tancredo-http://www.teamtancredo.com Ok, since not everyone will be a candidate in the end... Who do you want to be president...or who do you want to be a candidate. And why. Potential 3rd Party candidates Consitution Party Jerome R. Corsi Dale Thompson Jim Gilchrist Green Party Elaine Brown Kat Swift Libertarian Party Bob Jackson Steve Cubby Robert W. I'm a democrat and I am poor. Ok, I'm not saying that I am not going to vote for Hillary or Obama. I'm just saying that a lot of people are going to vote for them because they are the minority. I would love to see one of them as president. All I am saying is that a lot of people are going to vote for them without looking into what they are going to do for our country.

- The Republican candidate.
- the best candidate, after all parties have selected their nominees.
- It's too soon to tell.
- I'm going to vote for the person that I think lies the least or lies so good I think he's lying the least. The president is a leadership position. That means the saying - you can't make all the people happy all the time. As long as he's not a flip flopping putz like John Kerry I'll be happy, regardless of democrat/republican/green party whatever. Good question. The presidency should not be used as a proxy for societal issues. A minority president is fine - if he/she is competent and strong. Other countries are not going to treat us differently based on if our president is blue, yellow, short, tall, man, woman. Iran has treated us the same through democratic and republican presidents. They treated Carter like a baby treats a diaper b/c Carter was not strong enough. Reagan, Clinton, Bush all were stronger so Iran was a bit more behaved.
- rudy g., unless fred thompson runs
- Ron Paul 2008, he's not a corporate whore like the people you listed above.
- I'm not sure who I will vote for in the primary yet, but I do agree that MANY voters will vote for people for the wrong reasons. I plan to research all the candidates before I vote. I appreciate you posting links to their websites. Your insightful question/posting gives me hope for your generation! I'm not super excited about any candidate so far. I'm still hoping that Fred Thompson will come out as a Presidential candidate or maybe even Condi Rice. Have a WONDERFUL day! & Again GREAT question!!!
- Black people prefer Hillary, guilty white people will vote for the black guy
- I want to see who is serious about tax reform(this is extremely important because funding is a central issue in all other issues), who is strong on security, immigration, and making sure we finish the job we are in Iraq to do. If these issues are dealt with effectively, then some of the other issues will be easier to fix or will be shifted back to state and local governments, or to the individual where they belong. No more band aids or window dressing. No more using tax reform as a campaign issue then doing nothing about it. I want someone who is going to look at the root cause of a problem and deal with it. I don't want someone who is going to treat a symptom and call it fixed. Right now the candidates who seem to fit these criteria are Republicans. I still need to do further research though.
- I don't understand your concept on voting. Women are going to vote for Hillary not only because she is a women, but because she is the best man running. The office is a mess, and it takes a woman to clean things up (history)..Black Americans are not exactly going to back Obama, why? Glad you asked, who is he? I for one am a Nautral citizen and I can't imagine doing that. How high would you like gas prices to get? They aren't high enough for you yet? The republicans will have more than enough when they leave office with with their bounty, so I hope you are one of the rich republicans because everyone else will be suffering dearly.
- Ask yourself this, sweetie: Do you want to keep paying $3 or more for a gallon of gas? Do you want to see all of your taxes go to fund wars where tens of thousands of innocent kids die protecting ideals that are more ancient than dinosaurs? Do you want to buy a house someday? -- For less than half a million dollars? Do you want to continue to be laughed at by the rest of the world and looked at as mis-guided and ignorant? No, No, No, and NO Therefore - Choose to be a Democrat and vote for a GOOD MAN, such as: Obama, Edwards, or Gore.
- I'm going to vote for the one who will bring the killing to a stop as soon as possible. Not only have Americans lost over 3000 but the Iraqi civilian deaths is beyond 63,000 now . Here we are having attacked a country for Weapons they didn't have and we now know it (and some did before the attack). I will vote for a democrat that will take steps wisely something we haven't seen for seven years. I am not sure which yet the one with the best exit strategy for us and Iraq. History will paint us as the evil aggressor here for sure. There have been 3,653 coalition deaths -- 3,380 Americans, two Australians, 148 Britons, 13 Bulgarians, six Danes, two Dutch, two Estonians, one Fijian, one Hungarian, 32 Italians, one Kazakh, three Latvian, 19 Poles, two Romanians, five Salvadoran, four Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 18 Ukrainians -- in the war in Iraq as of May 9, 2007, according to a CNN count. (Graphical breakdown of casualties). The list below is the names of the soldiers, Marines, airmen, sailors and Coast Guardsmen whose deaths have been reported by their country's governments. The list also includes seven employees of the U.S. Defense Department. At least 25,245 U.S. troops have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon.
