What will the 2008 Presidential race look like?
At the moment, I am thinking Hillary Clinton might get the nomintation for President with John Edwards as Vice-President. She has not talked to Obama for months and she was discussing recently with Edwards how to defeat the other Democrats. However, if Al Gore were to enter the race, he would most likely get the nomination for President with Joe Biden as Vice-President, as Joe Biden has been gaining more respect since the Democratic YouTube Debates.. Many Americans are regretting voting for Bush instead of Gore in 2000. In a Gallup Poll, Al Gore would crush all the other Democrats with a large margin if he were to win. The Republicans most likely will nominate Fred Thompson as President, if he enters the race, with Mike Huckabee for Vice-President. Romney and Giuliani are probably a little too liberal for Fred Thompson. If it was a race between Al Gore and Fred Thompson, it would be a very interesting race and it could turn out to be a better race than I originally thought.

- Hilary, edwards wont take vp again, dont know who she'll pick as vp romney/thompson
- There will be no race ;-) You know that in US the president is being selected not elected ;-)
- It will be the typical campaign, mud slinging from both sides. Some of the "I've got a plan" and "you don't know what your talking about". I'm tired of it already. Why do we need to start the campaigning 3 years before the election?
- I think Biden would be a well-qualified candidate for certain. I think Obama would bring in fresh ideas. Clinton, too has experience, and a unique perspective, but too much baggage. One dark-horse not mentioned by you, is Bloomberg, who is now Independent, can truly be a bridge between fiscal responsibility and government serving the people. Regardless, we need not even bother with considering the RNC candidates this time. they are toast.
- I agree up to the point you make about Fred Thompson, I can't fathom that much support for him. He is highly unlikeable and even the Republicans have called him "lazy" when he served in the Senate.
- Ever played a deathmatch in Unreal? just imagine that without the weapons, much more verbal attacks, and a lot more spitting as people talk.
- If Hillary starts sliding in the polls I think Gore will throw in his hat. I also think if Fred Thompson enters the race Gore will follow.
- Hillary will never take a V.P. who is Prettier than She is.So forget about Edwards or Obama as her V.P.
- it will be a tight race between Idiot sevant and Neanderthal morons Repubs & Dems I predicted last year from this circus that Hillary will get nom for Dems and choose Obama as VP candidate Fred Thompson will get Rep nom and choose John McCain as VP candidate Either way we lose Welcome to the New World Order, brought to you by the Bush regime and delivered by NAFTA superhighway, creating open borders and the North American Union! A revolution is coming! Are you prepared!
- I'm thinking something like Hillary/Richardson....get the ethnic thing in without Obama. For the Reps... Rudy and maybe someone like Huckabee to keep the conservatives at ease.
- A Clinton/Obama would be nice, but I would love to see a Clinton/Edwards ticket. They are two powerhouses in the Dem party, PLUS Edwards appeals to undecided voters with his Southern charm and good looks.
- You can forget about Gore running, that's not going to happen. He's been very clear about his lack of interest, and he seems to have found his place in the world with his global warming campaign. It is likely that Sen. Clinton will be the nominee and she may still choose Obama as her VP. There have been many cases of the President and VP not being friendly, some even despised each other - JFK and Johnson for instance. That isn't a huge consideration. What is best for the party and for the election is the main consideration. If the Democrats decide that Clinton/Obama is the ticket most likely to win they'll run it whether those two like each other or not. They'll work together for the good of the party. Even if she doesn't pick Obama, I don't think it will be Edwards. Maybe Biden, maybe Bayh. But the 2008 election will be one of the most hotly fought and raucous elections this country has ever seen. The Republican Party will pull out all stops to clip Clinton's wings. The Democrats will fight back just as hard, and probably more effectively since they have real ammunition and not just old recycled smear stories that people are tired of hearing about. It's going to be a corker! Everyone to their battle stations! Fred Thompson? Not so sure about him. He's one strange duck and a lot of Republicans are getting lukewarm about him and his lack of get up and go. He's known as being lazy and his plodding steps to declaring aren't helping him. The Republican side is really too messed up to call a candidate for sure yet.
- I'm still up in the air about the whole thing it's to early ,what bomb or bo bo , will drop on any one of them.
