2008 Presidential Candiates!?!?

OK I know it is still a little bit early to begin thinking about the 2008 election but I myself just registered to vote yesterday since I am eighteen years old. I just got all the names down of the 18 canditates and am going to start researching about what they are dedicated to doing for our country but I wanted to ask you guys, who do you think would make the best president? If you don't know there names they are as follows. 1. Joe Biden (D) 2. Sam Brownback (R) 3. Hillary Clinton (D) 4. Christopher Dodd (D) 5. John Edwards (D) 6. Jim Gilmore (R) 7. Rudy Giluliani (R) 8. Mike Gravel (D) 9. Mike Huckabee (D) 10. Duncan Hunter (R) 11. Dennis Kucinich (D) 12. John McCain (R) 13. Barack Obama (D) 14. Ron Paul (R) 15. Bill Richardson (D) 16. Matt Romney (R) 17. Tom Tancredo (R) 18. Tommy Thompson (R) Thanks Leogirl 0 for correcting me it is appreciated; sorry I was kind of in a hurry to get this question out. Oh and to the person who asked what I registred as I put down Democrat.

Public Comments

  1. Huckabee is a republican and its Mitt Romney.
  2. I like Rudy... fiscally conservative, socially liberal...
  3. I haven't decided yet - I need to sit back and watch what happens in the months ahead. All I know is that its NOT Clinton, simply because I don't like her tactics. But good for you for doing your research, and good for you for taking the responsibility of voting so seriously! (I'd give you a thumbs up on your question if I could).
  4. what did you register as? a Democrat or republican. I'm a republican but i think it is too early to make a decision on any one person until the caucuses are over next January and February. the Democrats and republicans give there nomination to one member of each party. then those two run against each other that is the time when you should be thinking long and hard about who you want to vote for. if you want any more info on presidential election just ask in the more details part of your question and you'll get good answers here.
  5. Im sorry this will just never do. I dont care too terribly for any of these. I guess I'll just vote for Senator Clinton unless someone new comes in.
  6. Where are the Independents and the Third Party candidates? You can't call yourself informed, unless you know who those guys are, and their platforms. Just writing them off as "not gonna get it anyway" is a discredit to the voting process.
  7. Uh,it's" Mitt" Romney. Not Matt Romney, and it is too early to tell.
  8. 10, 14, 17 14 or 17 first. These 3 candidates will deal with illegal immigration correctly as far as I know none of the other candidates are willing to do the right thing.
  9. 1-Castro 2-Col.Qaddafi 3-Chavez 4-Shakera 5-Usama bin ladin OR The on and only.......Ariel-Sharon(with good criminal records)
  10. Good for you for registering to vote and for wanting to make informed decisions! Almost brings a tear to my eye. I hope more 18-yr-olds take a break from MySpace to do the same. Too many young voters "rock the vote" without really knowing what they're doing. (I was guilty of that myself.) As for the candidates, none have earned my vote as of yet but like you said, it is very early.
  11. So far I've done some research, and I was leaning slightly towards Huckabee, but once I saw him in an interview on TV I doubt very much he would get my vote. I can't stand a person who dances around issues. I know that the media was trying to catch him and make him look bad no matter what he said, but I want a president that has more backbone than that. If someone asked me some of those questions, they would be Yes/No answers. I'm a christian and I'm conservative and I'm not ashamed of it. If you don't agree with my beliefs, you're welcome to vote for someone else. I think in his effort to look ok to both sides, Huckabee looks worse than Kerry. There's only one person that I think hasn't compromised, and although I may not agree with everything he says, I think Ron Paul will get my vote if no other decent choices are offered. I also believe that in this election a lot of conservatives will refuse to compromise on their votes and will vote for the person who has the right agenda regardless of what their chances of winning actually are.
