Is Hilary electable?
Friday, June 22, 2007 Senator Hillary Clinton (D) now has the highest level of base support among the major candidates running for President. Twenty-nine percent (29%) say they would definitely vote for the former First Lady if she's on the ballot in 2008. However, Clinton is also just one point below the highest level of core opposition this month--46% say they would definitely vote against her. On that count, only Senator Joe Biden (D) scores higher (47% would definitely vote against Biden).

- Yes. If Obama doesn't get the nomination, I will be voting for her.
- Nope, but don't tell that to liberals. Conservatives everywhere are hoping they nominate her.
- I hope she's not!
- Well I thought Bush was unelectable and was wrong. So I will not make that mistake with Hillary.
- Amazing what money can buy ya isn't it? Richardson is the best Dem candidate. Ron Paul is the best Rep. Candidate.
- I really think she might become president. God help us all.
- Yeah, she'll do wonders for the US economy, she'll be just like Bill, just without the sex scandals....i hope!
- I dont think she is electable.....Although Id like to see the Democrats put up a candidate that we towards the middle can vote for.....once again the frontrunner is put there by the "Base" of the party......she'll have the same fate as the last two did. The moderates will have to go the other party
- she may get the democrat nomination unless Gore enters but thats as far as she will go
- Yes, some fools would vote for Bin Laden if they could. So she right in there with him and them.
- She is electable in the primary. Independents step into the general election and will probably shut her down. There is also the Bill Clinton factor to consider. With his popularity he may be able to pull it off for Hillary. It is sad, just as with previous elections, that Americans settle for the least worse person to run the country. What a joke. Americans are more interested in finding the best talent to play ball games than they are in finding the best person to impact their lives for years to come.
- Poll numbers will rise and fall for everyone. Personally, I dont believe she is electable because she has too much baggage and she is too polarizing. Too many people not only dislike her, they loathe her. Also there are many factors. Will Nader run and take a share of Hillarys vote? Will a scandal be brought to media attention before election day? Fred Thompson is a likable opposition to Hillary and many are backing him even before a formal announcement. So, in short... Sure its possible but in my opinion, not likely.
- Without a doubt. Prepare to be surprised.
- In my opinion the answer is no. The dislike for this woman is widespread, but she faces deeper challenges than mere dislike. Hillary's problems are threefold. The first is that she is so well known and every scandal that has even come close to touching her will become front page news again if she receives the nomination. Second is the fact that when pressed she becomes very shrill. This is an unlikable quality and a definite negative for her, especially given the fact that she will be challenged often if she receives the nomination. The third is that she just cannot seem to tell a consistent story. She changes her message constantly based on the audience she is speaking with at the time. This might work when coverage is split between several candidates, but if she is the only Democratic challenger every misstep will be big news focused on her alone.
- Oh Geez I am puking, no way oh my gawd..... Wait a minute. Did you say delectable? Oh Geez, I really gotta get these cataracts taken care of. I hope she isnt electable. I'm still have visions of what I thought you said.( CACK, CACK)
- There are Thousands of Women who will vote for her, Homosexuals will vote for her, Extreme Left Communists will vote for her. HRC has a good chance, God Save America !
- One of the most frightening things I can think of is President Hillary, so I really hope she isn't electable. With that in mind, I want to see her run and really get her hopes up. I want to see the look on her face when she loses. It gives me giggle fits just thinking about it.
