Do the democrats finally realize that we have to win this war against Islamic facism?

Heard yesterday where Senator Joe Biden (D. Deleware) 38 year old son's national gaurd unit has been activated for service in Iraq. Senator Biden released a statement, "I don't like seeing my son have to go, but I definately don't want to see my grandson have to go." I'm a conservative and have the upmost respect for anyone in the service. Have the democrats come around to realize that we have to win this war against Islamic facism no matter the cost?

  1. Some of the Democrats are just democrats and don't suffer from BDS. They're the only sane voices in that party because most of them are just so far to the left it's ridiculous.
  2. That's another example of why some children must left behind.
  3. We never thought we didn't need to win -
  4. Baa'aa'h
  5. Sure, and while we are at it lets just wage war on anyone else who doesn't think like you either. Last man standing wins right conservs...
  6. When can we eliminate the source of the problem, the Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia?
  7. No. The Democrats want us to lose the war in the hopes that they get some political gain out of it. Just today, on the news, Senator Levin acknowledged that the US is defeating the terrorists in Iraq. He still!!!! thinks we should withdraw right away.
  8. Hopefully. This conflict is different from Vietnam. Communism started in the 1850s. Its a political system. Islam started around 600 ad. Its a radical religion. The Arab states have also mobilized terrorists worldwide unlike the communists (for the most part). I dont hate Muslims, but I dont feel the need to convert to radical Islam in order to live with them. This is a serious issue, and we need to deal with it as if its a serious issue.
  9. hopfully they do but if they dont vote for republicans they know what has to be done
  10. No the Demos need to have a reason to get elected so they will oppose the war to get votes, even though the war must be fought and won. Iraq is another Korea situation, 50 year occupation at least.
  11. They might just want the money for the war to go to their own banks, so it may be difficult to convince those non-thinkers....
  12. When are you going to define win for us. Iraq had little or nothing to do with terrorism before we invaded. Instead of going after those who actually were involved with terrorism we concentrated our people and treasure on a soverign nation that was no threat to us and very little threat to her neighbors. Democrats are not opposed to fighting terror but they are opposed to the Iraq war. Some day, God knows when, the other side will realize that the war in Iraq was not about terrorism but terrorists migrated there because of the war. Simple minds see the world only in black and white, right and wrong, my way or the highway and so you can't be expected to see the difference. Democrats do see the difference and while opposing the debacle in Iraq certainly have no problem supporting efforts to get Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.
  13. Its Vietnam all over again.
  14. I'm starting to see that we can't just leave and let them hash it out because most likely Al Qaeda will come in and fight for status there too. However, it'll be a long long and even longer bloody war for them to hash it out between the Kurds, Sunni, and Shiites, then establishing government for whoever wins. But if we cut and run like I thought we should earlier, then what will it read in the history books 100 years from now. "The United States invaded Iraq and left when it got tough......overthrew a bad government for a worse government to take over." "The beginning of the end of a great superpower......"
  15. First off, Islamic Extremist Fundamentalists are not Fascists, which is a government in bed with corporations/industry, usually with a totalitarian head (sound like the Bush administration?). Second, this is not a war to win at all cost. I will not sacrifice thousands of Americans, billions of dollars or the future of our empire chasing thugs in the alleys of Baghdad. This is better done from the air. As a conservative, you should be more worried about staying out of foreign affairs, closing our borders and ensuring the ability to fight future wars if we have to. Biden's son is fighting in Iraq. Why not Bush's children, or Cheney's, or instutute a draft so everyone has an equal stake. Would you pay that price to win the war?
  16. Tragically the democrates have not, perhaps a few in the ranks know this. to the point, Nancy P, (speaker of the house) flew to syria just after taking that office and all kinds of hell suddenly broke out. She is a public servant and is not afforded off the record talks with those who aid and support our enemy... the Dem's have an idea that they can talk to folks and that people are generally good. They are not. was watching a deal yesterday about MS 13 being used to bring arab terrorist into the country.....Look it up on the internet and read the facts. we are at war with a dangerous religious zealot group and they don't want anything except domination.. my opinion, this country is already lost, based on the knowledge of warfare, politics, stupidity at all levels, greed in our system of government, and the citizens asleep at the wheel in the united states as a whole. One man, determined and well trained can kill a city. One man determined and well funded and working tirelessly is still only one man. Defense is a team effort and our team is disorganized, still working as individuals.
  17. And what do we do about conservative fascism or Christian fascism or Jewish fascism etc...... Lets face it we are in a world that has a bunch of fools with guns and bombs on all sides and in the end it comes down to a failure of all sides to realy understand each other so I have little time for fools like Bush, Bin Laden who bomb first.
  18. It's the Republicans who don't "get it." Why aren't Bush, Cheney, or Romney's kids serving? Why don't college Republicans enlist? Democrats definitely support the war on terror, and the Iraq war is not part of that. The Democrats support a withdrawal plan so the US can fight Islamic extremists.
  19. Maybe the democrats will deal with the real Islamic fascists like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia rather than secular states like Iraq. but that would make too much sense.
  20. The Democrats have ALWAYS known this - but the Democrats ALSO know that STRATEGY is extremely important and that WINNING hearts and minds rather than BLOWING UP hearts and minds is the ONLY way we will win it. Conservatives seem to believe in the "Nuke Mecca, problem solved" approach IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!
  21. There are 1,6 Billion Muslims out there. Not one of them has denounced outright the Fanatical Wings of their religion. A few stuck their head out, pussyfooting around, saying it has to change, but nothing really drastic. As long, as we keep on looking at Muslims at an Enemy, this will get worse, much worse. There is no military solution, other then the end of the USA. Better is diplomacy. Europe is still standing and currently stronger then ever. Germany has weathered the Romans 2200 years ago and is today still among the top five nations. They always had their good times, when they used diplomacy, not weapons.
  22. True Democrates are not the problem, the Socialist left wing is. The only thing they care about is staying in power and taxing our butts off to support their "give me " base.
  23. First we all need to win domestic fascism
  24. what's facism? Did you mean fascism?
  25. Again why do we think we need to win? Islam is just another religion like Catholics with different beliefs, I believed the real war should be againts terrorist or people who may want to harm innocent people to impose their own beliefs and not every islamic believer is a terrorist. I am catholic and believer in Jesus and my God don't like muderers. while men the only thing they are looking for is power and what is that going to do at the end for us, make the population feel safe, having our kids growing up in a safety enviroment, is going to end in"World War III " Think about it, there is so much misunderstanding between countries and our kids perceived and grow into this enviroment and they are the future of the world, if they are raise thinking that War is a solution to fix problems probably there is no going to be a future for them. This is just my opinion.
  26. Please. It has nothing to do with "winning" anything. That's the excuse most people who support this war in particular use in order to make up for the horrible job their president has done. The war will never be won especially a war based upon lies and deceit. As a family member to a Col. in the US Air Force and wife of an Army vet, I know that our country is run by money hungry, racist, not realty based white men and their families that want to make everyone of us that hate this war feel guilty for not "backing up" our nation. You have no idea what my family has been through because of this country. They don't care for their military when they are dieing from war based reasons? Why should anyone have to support death? There is no full fleged reason we are at war in that country except to take over like we always try to do and have power over people we (you) hate. If this was really a war on terroism, we'd be in the correct country. Stop letting your wallet tell you who to support.
  27. Win? I'm still not sure of what that is. Does winning mean killing all the perceived Islamic fascists? Isn't that what the Crusades tried to do? Didn't work all that well then.
  28. One way or another the democrayts will find out just how bad it can get. Either go do the job ow and make sure it is done or leave and have jto fight then on their own front steps where theyr children will be killed. Either way makes not difference to the radicals. I won't be there and that is for sure.
  29. We will never know what the Democrats have realized by listening to them. They said in 2005 that if they were to take over congress in 2006 they "Will end this war" Well, you know what happened. If you listen to the democratic presidential candidates they tell you that the war on terror is just a slogan that the dumbest man in America used to trick them. Nancy went to Syria to prove it. When she came back she said ahhh-ummm-ahhhh, well, I really don't know what she said. What we got out of the deal was a higher minimum wage that will end poverty. I wonder why all the other times the minimum wage was raised it didn't end poverty but this time it will? Edwards says that the war on terror is just a bumper sticker slogan and when asked what he meant by that he said: "We shouldn't say anything that will limit our options" I don't know what that means either. Richardson says we should bring all troops home, So does Kucinich, So does Gravel, So does Dodd. Obama wants to bring them home and then attack Pakistan, seems like the long way around. Hillary doesn't want to do any of that and she doesn't want to do what the republicans want either. She has me on the edge of my seat. Whatever it is, it will cost us some of our paycheck you can count on that. So the answer to your question might be found in a magic eight ball.
  30. Surely it hasn't escaped your attention that many key Republicans are now publicly saying that we need to make a change or get out? If the war is against extreme Muslims (I'm thinking 9/11, mostly), then why are we in Iraq and not Afghanistan or Pakistan? Even Syria? There are many places that are more dangerous than Iraq. Where were most of the terrorists from, on 9/11? Where are most terrorists trained? Where is the leadership of Al Qaeda? Where are the terrorist press release style videos made? Where have all Al Qaeda leaders been arrested? Where are terrorists trained? What nationality is Osama bin Laden? What nationality were/are his "officers"? Which countries are suspected of harboring terrorists? Which countries are suspected of helping with banking/financing for terrorists? Etc. The fact is that there was a cell in Iraq related to weapons. There was a cell in the U.S. doing much more. There probably still is! If we're going to fight terrorism (by anyone), then let's stop wasting time and money and lives in Iraq and focus on the problem. I don't like to hear on the news about young Americans dying in Iraq as terrorists organize, train and rebuild elsewhere. Because those people that I hear about on the news are real. They have families and friends who love them. If they're going to sacrifice their lives, let it be for a reason...
  31. We will never win the war against Islamic facism. We are trying to stop crazy people who live all over the world. Do you really think that fighting in Iraq is going to stop Islamic terrorism? Welcome to WWIII.
  32. Biden isn't fair left and is one of the party members that I listen to I tend to think he is fair minded or not intectaully dishonest.
  33. The earlier answers to this question suggest that many of the "Dems" still haven't learned. Their argument that Iraq is not a part of the global war on terror shows they fail to comprehend the true nature of the threat facing the West. The war against the West by radical Islam, or Islamic fundamentalists, or "jihadists" if you prefer, started long before 9-11. Has everyone already forgotten about the Marine barracks in Beirut, the Khobar towers in Saudi Arabia, the first attack on the Twin Towers (1993), the attack on the embassies in Africa, and the U.S. Cole? Radical Islam was convinced by the defeat of the Soviet Union in Afghanistan that it was now time to take on the other "infidels", the West and the U.S. in particular. Our failure to respond to the long series of attacks that followed the Soviet defeat emboldened the enemy. The attack on 9-11 came almost four years after bin Laden had announced the jihad against America. And al Qaeda is only one part of the global jihadist movement. If Osama were captured or killed today, the threat to America would decrease, but only imperceptibly. Iraq is just "one front" in the war on terror. And we should stop calling it the "war on terror" and call it what it really is: the defense of Western civilization from the global jihad by Islamic fundamentalists. Until everyone in the West, including "Dems" understand that we are at great risk of more 9-11 type events. You can't win a war you don't know you are in.
  34. I don't think democrats were ever against fighting Islamic extremism. However, I think they were opposed to fighting a pointless war in Iraq which initially had nothing to do with Islamic facism, but now is a hotbed for such activity.
  35. Only the smart ones.
  36. Islamic fascism(at least spell the word right) is a catchy phrase, but it really is meaningless. The people we are fighting against do not belong to a state. They fight for a religious ideal. Fascism began with Benito Mussolini, and it centered around the state not an idea.
