Should Joe Biden resign for his bigoted remarks?

Here we have Don Imus. He made a mistake. But, he's not an elected leader. We have an elected leader in Joe Biden who, more than once, has shown the stereotypes floating around in his mind. IMO, Don Imus is a radio personality. Joe Biden was elected to represent his constituents. Who is more deserving to lose their position? Arianah, I agree, but people call for Imus' firing, when he's little more than a voice. Joe Biden votes on legislation that affects all of us, but he gets a pass. That strikes me as incongrous. Crabby - Biden has done this more than once - not just with Barack Obama, but with regard to convenience store owners. The point is, Don Imus is meaningless. Period. He's not a leader. Joe Biden is supposed to be. I therefore hold him to a higher standard.

Public Comments

  1. No. Joe Biden gets a pass. He's the dumbest man in the U.S. Senate.
  2. What?
  3. Neither. Whether you like it or not, they both are entitled to say whatever they please.
  4. let's hope so
  5. Joe Biden is an old used up politician. I would offer that he has nothing to offer of interest or value.
  6. There should *never* be an excuse for an elected official to be a racist. Good God, remember how harsh the media was to Trent Lott? But Biden gets a pass....
  7. Moreover Imus was the one who realized that he went overboard with his remarks and he decided he needed to apologize. If he hadn't felt such remorse and called attention to it, perhaps no one would have noticed in this day and age.
  8. Don Imus can't tax anyone into oblivion, Biden can and does whenever he gets the chance
  9. They are both morons and should be held accountable, I could not throw racial remarks around at my job and neither should they.
  10. No give little Joe a pass, he's going in for more hair plugs, the doctor promised him hair like John Edwards.
  11. Please note that our former Freedom of Speech has been modified to Freedom to Say Anything Deemed Appropriately Politically Correct by liberals. Everything else is banned forthwith--especially if uttered by a Republican/conservative.
  12. Imus committed a foul, Biden being a Senator committed a personal foul worthy of ejection. As you pointed out one is an entertainer, if people don't like him, change the channel. Biden influences our laws, has a position that demands respectful behavior.
  13. He should do more than that. He should resign from his job, and his life as he knows it. America doesn't need another bigot. Yes, there is a difference between Imus, and Biden. Imus is a commentator, and stirs people up to get them thinking, emotional, and makes them want to speak out, have their say, and does take pressure of a sort, off of people and their frustrations by doing as he does. He riles up his listener's, to get up, and either say, or do something! I say he is healthy for Americans, in that way. Biden is an elected official, meant to stand for the people he represents, to vote, as the people wish him to, not for himself, and what he personally believes. He didn't do that, however, and should be ashamed of himself. He isn't doing his job. Biden, between the two, should be "fired". He was elected to represent, Inus was hired by a news company to say what he thinks. There is a HUGE difference there!
  14. Biden should resign because he's a partisan moron...it has nothing to do with bigotry. First he said he wished his son would go to a certain college....then while at speaking at another college he said that he wouldn't send his son to the first college. He nearly wet his pants while questioning John Roberts because Roberts wouldn't say anything stupid that Biden could attack him on. Biden would spout for several minutes at a time, asking long, drawn out questions and not giving Roberts time to answer. Then, Biden would complain that Roberts wasn't answering his questions and then that he wasn't given enough time to ask his questions. What an idiot! Regarding Imus: It's interesting that Imus can call a women's basketball team scary and "nappy headed ho's" and people are outraged by it. But....rappers like .50 cent and others use words much worse to describe black women and they get a pass. What's up with that?
  15. Joe Biden is a full fledged left wing liberal...he gets a pass. They crucified Trent Lott, taking his innocent comments entirely out of context. But that's what they do. Joe Biden makes a comment that implied black people are dirty, not only does the media give him a pass, but they rally around him in defense! Mark Foley sends lurid text messages to interns. Not only does he resign, and rightfully so, the media bangs the drum so loud 24/7 for a month the Republicans lose the house! Barney Frank has a thriving gay prostitution ring in his basement..not a peep!! William Jefferson had $90,000 cash in his freezer, clearly bribe money, and what happens...Not a peep!!!! I fvcking hate liberals.
  16. Give me a break. What Joe Biden has said doesn't compare to what that shock jock has said.
  17. There is a funndamental difference between what Biden did and what Inus does. Biden put his foot in his mouth--no question about that. but it was an isolated incident--and if you listened to what he said, clearly not intended as a racial slur. Inus' remarks are openly racist and insulting. Furthermore, this is not the first time--or even the 10th. He has done this repeatedly. and has promised to stop and broken his word. So--the bottom line: Biden, whose record on race issues is excellant--made a mistake. Inus makes a policy of racist remarks. Biden's error does not warrent more than an apology--which he has given. Inus is openlyy and consistantly racist. What MSNBC an dCBS decide to do is their affair--but if I were making the decision, Inus would be booted. His apologies have no credibility any longer.
  18. Yes, he should resign now. He has said racist things. Where is Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? Why aren't they offended?
