John McCain will be the next President of the United States. Do you agree with my reasons for believing this?

Senator McCain was on Larry King tonight and he sounded great. He was clear and confident on many issues. I think he was that warm, grandfatherly aura that Reagan used to have. And I think there are a lot of people in America right now who want that in a President. But more importantly, McCain has the experience and the skill to do the job. Its true that the McCain campaign has been through some tough times recently. But in fact this might be a safe space for McCain. He's not the frontrunner that he was 6 months ago. He's no longer the man to beat. I think you'll see Gulianni start to fade, along with Romney. Fred Thompson will turn out to be a dud. As for the democrats, they are looking to nominate some candidates that will ultimately be unelectable. There is a small, growing movement that is going to become the "anyone but Hillary" vote. She may get the nomination, but she won't win the election. She won't get the soccer moms, nor will she get the swing vote I just think it will be a war of attrition. When McCain gets the nomination he won't be blamed for Iraq. Hilary voted for the war and won't address this issue. John McCain's campaign is actually in a pretty good spot right now. This will become more apparent in the coming months.

  1. Right on Brother
  2. McCain supported amnesty. He'll go nowhere.
  3. ANYONE is better than what we're stuck with now.
  4. so you would support the only us navy fighter pilot that bombed his own aircraft carrier.....look up the story of the USS forestall....
  5. Good points. He's playing his cards right as a politician right now. But I also think the Republican party in general has been scarred by the current administration. To say it's not redeemable the next election will yet to be seen. Right now, I believe, the war is a major obstacle for the Republicans. McCain is a strong supporter of the war (although he has hinted that critical mistakes were made). I agree with you that Gulianni may fade, but that is also debatable. I think that either him, or McCain will be presidentital candidates... but I could be wrong. I think it'll be an exciting election either way. It will be interesting to see what the Democrats will do.. because I think the ball is in their court.
  6. Juan McCain blew his chance when he became the number one illegal alien amnesty supporter.
  7. McCain is over--he sold out.
  8. No, McCain is through. Him trying to ram amnesty down Americas throat is a betrayel that most wont overlook. Now he is against it.... Flip flop. I dont like Rudy either, hes worse. Im still waiting for Fred but I like Mitt too.
  9. Like I answered on a previous question regarding John McCain... I think he is the best Republican candidate, but a party change is what's in store for next year.
  10. Sorry, I would have voted for him instead of W, but he supported amnesty, and even now he is surprised that we that did not support his program, he doesn't have a clue how we feel.
  11. John McCain will never be President. He supported amnesty. He capitulated on judges. He removed free speech. He has no experience and is senile.
  12. McCain is judged by the company he kept. Namely Ted the drunk manslaughter Kennedy. Agreeing with that slime bag ended McCain's chances long time back
  13. No, I don't think that is true. For one reason and one reason only. Southern conservatives n particular still have not forgiven him for the things he said in 2000 and they don't trust him at all. He polls really low among those in the South and that could be a deadly failing for a Republican candidate. The party's going to have to seriously look at that before they can entertain making McCain the nominee.
