Will John McCain win the GOP in the long term?
I think romney having less experience as mccain and being a mormon will hurt him. Guiliani is too liberal supporting things such as gay rights, abortion, and gun control to win enough conservative votes. Huckabee is too conservative to win in moderate states and liberal states in the primary. However McCain seems to be conservative on issues such as execution, defending against terrorism, against gay marriage and abortion, and supports citizens rights to own guns. He seems to do well in the west which has alot of moderates and where the other half of people are either liberal or conservative.

- NO
- If he win the Republican nomination H. Clinton and Obama will not stand a chance because some liberals will vote for him.
- I don't believe he will. I respect McCain for his military service, but I'm not impressed at all with his government service. He's a little too far to the left of center for me. I think that Huckabee or Romney will end up being the candidate for election.
- I dont think so... his views on immigration are far too liberal.. and he is remembered by many in the GOP for his stand on the McCain Fiengold thing... and the McCain Kennedy dream act crap. I dont see him as a consistent conservative. And I will be voting against him UNLESS he is the only option I have against a Hillary or OBAMA administration.
- I don't think so - and you're missing a major reason why. Many of McCain's supporters are also Obama supporters, and as Obama gains popularity, they're flocking toward him and away from McCain.
- I don't think he will in the long term, but he seems to be doing well in NH.
- I sure hope not. He is NOT a conservative, just like Bush. Huckabee, also, is not a conservative. If you look at his record, he was for higher taxes, illegal immigration, etc. It would take a real conservative to win for the GOP.
- no he;s pretty much finished.being a former POW.you would think he would want to end the war in Iraq.but he;s got his head right up George Bush;s ass.Viet Nam was a mistake, and so is this war in Iraq.JOHN McCain can;t see that.did he learn anything about his war days in VIET NAM.i sure would;,t vote for a guy like him.
- No. Not a chance. It is between Huckabee, Rudy, and Romney. McCain thinks its too mean to water board a terrorist in order to prevent another terror attack. In short: The last thing we need is a 70 year old man with 3 cheeks in office.
- McCain will have the best chance to defeat the liberal menace of either Hillary or Obama.
