The GOP straw polls say John McCain?!?
The lastest straw polls in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina have McCain at 36%. Why is "Bush44" attrcative to more than a third of these people? A wanton flip-flopper(Romney) and a wanton whatever(Guiliani) arent "Republican enough"? What is wrong with these people? Where's the sense of direrction? You know what I think it is. I think they're getting mentally prepared to get their heads handed to them in 2008 so they are going with the candidate most in line with Bush, so they can at least say "We tried to stay the course all along" and STILL not admitting Bush is out of touch with the American people.

- While I think McCain is dead wrong on Iraq, and am disgusted by his pandering to the extremist elements of the "religious" right, one small bright spot to this poll is that he supports mandatory carbon emission caps. At least he might do something about global warming.
- Hooray for you! You've certainly a political future in your life as you've alread "pre-empted" this ruse and congratulations for your insight. You're exactly right.
- OK........and your question is..............????????? Your heading is a statement not a question. However, I would tend to agree with your analysis.
- I liked McCain in 2000, too bad Karl Rove attacked his character which led to W's nomination. He's too old and out of touch now and enough citizens are ready for a real change. Next election will be interesting. I like Obama and think he's the best chance of winning because Hillary is too polarizing. So many people hate her for some reason.
- McCain is our Lieberman and by looking at the list of Socialist candidates (denoted by the letter "D") don't call the kettle black
- I'm not trusting any polls at this stage anyway, least of all on the Republican candidates because they (the polls) are far too much all over the map.
