Do you think the best candidate for president is John McCain?

He does not care to please his party bosses... Even though I lean towards democrats more, I think McCain would be impossible to beat in 2008...

1. I did in 2000. I do not in 2008. His warmongering has caused many old supporters to leave.

7. McCain is not impossible. Perhaps you are too young to remember that whole S&L thing. The S&L scandal was a great show of bi-partisianship as both democrats and republicans in the senate destroyed many lives for individual gree. McCain was one of those bastards, and it will haunt him when he gets the nomination. There are no good republican cands., excepts maybe Romney or Brownback. Say hello to Hitlerly, Madame president.
8. He is an extremely likable guy. He appears to be as honest as a politician can be. He definitely has experience. BUT he has a hot temper, and it is not a good quality for a president. I do not think he would be the best candidate for the President. I am leaning more towards Hillary Clinton, even though she also has her share of shortcomings. She is a cool-headed, calculating person and knows how to handle herself in the crisis situation.

10. THere is no best candidate, they are all in it for the money and the prestige, the power and the glory. If they happen to do a good job (how likely is that) that is a bonus.
11. McCain doesn't have a chance. In fact Arizona just did a study and they have McCain coming in 4th in his party. When his own State does a study and it comes out with him on the losing side, that says quite a bit. Especially since Arizona is such a Republican based state. McCain was destroyed by Bush during the campaign, and yet he still kissed Bush's butt and fell right into the propaganda war machine. That turned off a lot of people. It made McCain look like a sell out. A lot of Arizonans do not like his stance on illegal issues. No one wants amnesty for foreign law breakers and welfare abusers, but he can't see through the fog. McCain will not win anything. He has become a weak tool for Washington and their little war on Islam. He is a great veteran, but he is no leader
12. No. I used to, for a while, but I don't trust him and don't agree with his politics.
13. I wish I could say "yes," but I have serious concerns for how McCain would act under stress. He has a history of actions that lead me to believe he possibly has post-traumatic stress syndrome from his POW days, but at the very least deveoped a personality that many POWs came home with that makes them very easy to anger, quick to act without thinking, and unwilling to listen to dissenting views. As well-meaning as I believe he is, I don't think he has the emotional stability to be a president.

I absolutely think he is the best candidate...he is a man of character and integrity, and not afraid to challenge his party on matters of principle..he is also able to work easily with Democrats to get things done...plus his foreign policy credentials are superb ( he served his country in Vietnam and was locked up as a POW for years, so this man understands what it means to go to war)
15. I'm a democrat so wouldn't vote for him anyway, but I used to like him until he started sucking up to Bush. I've lost all respect for him.
