Do you believe McCain when he says he will work to curb wasteful spending?

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful John McCain (news, bio, voting record) is promising to veto bills that contain so-called pork barrel projects, balance the federal budget and work to fix Social Security and Medicare if elected. "'No' is always the right answer to wasteful spending," the Arizona senator says in a speech he is to give Monday in Memphis, Tenn., according to excerpts from his campaign. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070416/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_spending_4 SOMEONE SHOULD STOP ALL THE WASTEFUL SPENDING IN WASHINGTON AND LOWER OUR TAXES!

  1. I hope so because we need somebody to take that on. President Bush has been a disappointment as far as domestic spending is concerned. War spending is needed.
  2. A backer of the LIE IN IRAQ...says he will curb wasteful spending???
  3. No, not really. I do believe Ron Paul would.
  4. NO I don't believe McCain when it comes to spending...McCain sold out long ago and has supported a war that is costing BILLIONS in US tax dollars with only one winner....Halliburton.
  5. Someone should stop God fearing christians like you from speaking about candidates like him.
  6. McCain has absolutely no credibility period.
  7. How long has Amnesty McCain been in the Senate? And just NOW he is saying he WILL work to curb wasteful spending? Why doesn't he just say "Look at my record. I HAVE worked to curb wasteful spending and will continue."? Because he has NOT worked to curb wasteful spending! In fact he has proposed and voted for many wasteful spending laws! "NO" is always the right answer to Amnesty McCain!"
  8. That's a tough one...what does HE consider wasteful spending? I don;'t think that helping New Orleans rebuild is wasteful, but someone else might. I don't think I believe him...I don';t believe ANY politician who says they are going to cutspending...unless they do it to themselves first. Good question. Another example of how ambiguous some terms are...and everyone has a different definition of those terms. Same thing with MORALS. Everyone has a different definition of what that means
  9. I want my taxes lowered so I can get a $150 haircut like you!
  10. McCain is undeniably a hero, not a question, but do I want every football star to be a coach? McCain doesn't have the health, nor the clarity of view for the astounding amount of internal problems we have accrued under Bush, to be tackled in 2009. I am sure, the American public will vote a Democrat anyway next, but they will vote from the gut like always and it will be the wrong one, like always.
  11. When the bill finally arrives, we will have wasted darn near a trillion bucks in Bush's little Iraq venture. John McCain wants that to continue. I think that black hole of spending dwarfs any domestic programs he'll veto. If you don't like taxes, stand by. This new congress won't allow Bush to hide the war funding in emergency off the books measures anymore. Who do you think will foot the bill for this fiasco?
  12. McCain changes his position on the issues every time the wind blows. It's like throwing darts and trying to hit a bull's eye with blindfolds on. He keeps taking the temperature of the voters and tries to modify his opinions and philosophies to suit the majority. I hate to resort to rhetoric, but he's a classic flip-flopper. Furthermore, anyone can claim that they'll remove pork barrel projects, balance the budget, fix Social Security, etc. but until that person outlines a specific plan to accomplish these formidable goals, it don't mean squat!
  13. Actions always speak louder than words, what has he done up to this point with a lifetime in congress? Created 527s which allowed the likes of George Soros and Peter Lewis to usurp the election process. Gee, I cannot think of lot of action................lots of talk, but not a lot of action.' I would find it preferable if congress took off for a few years, you know maybe let we the people decide on the budget for a bit.
  14. good then lets get all the republican spenders out of office. the rep are spending billions on this stupid war with can be spent on better things.
