What are the arguments for and against John McCain being president?

I want to hear both Republican and Democratic views on this.

1. He is a republican. He is for war. He is wrong on Iraq and foreign policy. He is against the right of women to have an abortion. He is right on ...gee I don't know on what he is right. Don't tell me that, "there must be good republicans politicians", not unless you believe that there be good long term mafia members.
2. He would have been president in 2000 by a landslide, but he quit so bush could win. Do you really think this country would be this screwed up if he won in 2000. But he turned into a yes man for bush & screwed himself. I would have voted for him in 2000, not now.
