Will John McCain be president?

Whoever is elected is gonna have to clean things up a bit.

1. I highly doubt it will be McCain. My guess the people will choose a democratic President because of the recent terms run by a republican. But you're right, things need to be cleaned.
2. I think he has a decent shot, but this will be his last. He's getting old. I agree that things need cleaning up, but the country has been though much worse and come out ok.
3. Since it was originally his idea to increase troop strength in Iraq, if it fails some of the blame for a lack of good judgment will fall back on him. It will hurt his chances to become president if the US role in Iraq is still going on by election time. There will be a backlash from a majority of voters against any Republican candidate that supports Bush's war effort. People are already very much opposed to the troop increase and the war itself. He also will have competititon for the nomination from Guiliani & Romney of Massachusetts.
4. I seriously doubt it. I'm not even sure he'll get the Republican nomination anymore. He's hitched himself to unpopular war views and he's got a nasty temper. Polls show his popularity has been in a steady decline.

6. Has ANYBODY else noticed that we don't HAVE any viable candidates for president in ANY Party??? How many decades has it been since we've had real leadership in this nation? 7? 8?
7. If McCain gets the nomination, my gut says that he will be another Bob Dole, an over the hill senator who got nominated because it was "his turn" and ends up losing. To have a chance the republicans will have to do better than McCain and and I don't know that that is possible.
8. Let's hope so. I'm all for (as I am female) a 1st female president, just....let her (Hilary Clinton) NOT be in our historical ledgers as the 1st. I beleive McCain has the experience, presence to clean anything up...legally
9. A flip-flopping Cheshire Cat like him is the surest way to sacrifice young American lives and hasten up Armaggedon! What great ideas can be genuinely said to have originated directly from him, or what has he done so great other than served as a Vietnam POW?
10. John McCain probably would've been a great president if he beat Bush in the primary back in 2000, but now he's too old and holds some unpopular views.
11. I don't think John McCain can win, but if he did you can be sure he would always tell the American people the truth
