John McCain is an apologist for George Bush?

Have you notice that over the years John McCain had supported George Bush on numerous issues. For the longest he has been supported of the Iraq war. If you do some research you will notice John McCain has been an apologist for Bushes policy. In essence, when you vote for McCain aren't you voting for Bush. With all due respect to Mr. McCain because I do have respect for him for his service, but being a hero does not necessary qualify one to be president of the United States. I believe many people are mesmerize emotionally by McCain heroism and are blindsided on whether or not he is up to the job of being president. I welcome your thoughts. David th.. from the last post - Unfortunately, you are wrong about Bush being his own man. You ought to do you homework, McCain was cozy with Bush on so many issues, I thought McCain was Bush's other lady!

  1. That's pretty much correct, while voting for Hillary would be voting for Business as Usual (tm) for the Democratic Party, McCain is like doing the same for the Republican Party. He walks just about all party lines the same way, though he has had a much more... distinguished... military service than "W". Obama and Edwards seem more split on things, with Obama being more moderate in my eyes, and Edwards being more liberal. Rudy has more moderate angles than the base party line, while Huckabee and Romney are more Conservative than even "W" and McCain.
  2. / No, you are wrong, but I won't change your mind because it is your question area, and you can vote the Democrat as best answer. Sen. John McCain supports the "war on terror," and like Hillary and ALL the other Democratic Presidential Candidates with the only exception being Obama, he voted to go to war with Iraq. Obama is the only one who did not support the war with Iraq (yet, as President, would move the American Soldiers into Pakistan). As for HOW Sen. McCain supported the Iraq war, it differs from Bush. Sen. McCain called Rumsfeld, "unqualified" while he was in charge of the State Dept. Sen. McCain would have handled the war differently. He supported General Pertrayus's Surge (while most others did not), and it worked. Sen. McCain has the experience for a sound exit strategy to get us out of Iraq. When George Bush won the election almost 8 years ago, the second best vote-getter was John McCain. Governor Bush didn't like McCain, and for that reason, didn't choose him as his running mate. Sen. John McCain supports Bush only as the President, not as the man. He has made this clear to tens of millions of his supporters. Sen. McCain is well respected by Democrats, and Sen. John Kerry FIRST asked John McCain to be his running mate before asking John Edwards.
  3. I am a big fan of McCain and you are 100% right. To me, it didn't make much sense for a guy planning on running for president to be so cozy with a man with such a low approval rating. Personally, I don't think McCain agrees with Bush about everything, it's just that when he does, he gets a lot of airtime for it because Bush has such low approval ratings and he's pretty vocal about it.
