Why are the youth of America attracted to Barack Obama?

I was told by my extremely conservative republican family that it is because the Youth are afraid of War... I was not too pleased with that answer- as i am a follower of Barack, and lean to the left on most issues.

1. There is an old saying...If you aren't a democrat when you are young, then you have no heart. If you are not a Republican when you are older, you have no brain. Obama tells people that the government can fix the problems. social and financial.Even Republicans say this as well, Only Ron Paul tells us the government is the problem and with the money the government and the corporations that live off of the government waste, we could fix our own problems.
2. Because he's a good speaker and he talks about "change" alot. He sounds great but if you listen closely to what he says, you'll notice that he doesn't actually say anything. His speeches sound nice but they have no substance. Young people are all about instant satifaction though. They will like someone that makes them feel good instead of paying attention to the facts. Modern liberalism is about feeling good, not doing good.
3. it is because they want someone who speaks positively, has a clean record, didn't vote for the war, actually lived abroad, and is a black candidate that can actually appeal to white voters. He is also very intelligent, and an outstanding speaker.

5. the youth of america probally haven't been through too much crap-maybe the breakup of there parents being the worst -if they had they would probally vote for clinton -someone who has already helped the middle and lower class folks and would do the same again-as they say live and learn

7. He's much younger than the other candidates, for one thing. Otherwise, he just has a kind, likable demeanor and a personality that seems relatable. It is a sad day when people base their entire opinion of a presidential candidate solely on personality rather than political views, but that day has surely come regarding Obama. To me, all of the praise he receives from younger Americans is based 96% from his personality. That's what makes what he says constantly about "change" just enough to fill the next four percent.
8. ross, That's not an old saying. You invented it yourself. I challenge you to cite it. Young people are attracted to Obama because he inspires them and because he's totally unlike the status quo in Washington. I've seen his speeches. He does talk about issues: alternative energy, job training, education, healthcare, typical Dem issues.
9. I suspected because they are new to this earth. They haven't experienced good old fashion racism. On Montel today. A young white girl, expressed her opinion. She hasn't experienced relationships with African Americans. She's only heard rumors. I do know that all the young white youth's, love good rap songs. (not the gangsta stuff) They are clear of mind and thinking. Most also are bowing out of methamphetamine and smoking. Afraid of war. Me too......why isn't it that old guys in Washington aren't? No they shoot other old guys in the face and get off.
10. So you support a Politician who made the top Ten Most corrupt politicians list. (Judicial Watch) When you decide to get educated and are a little older you will see how wrong you where about supporting Obama! You will owe your family a huge apology. What did you expect when you allow your self to be brainwashed by the Liberal spin machine!
11. I would be consideres a "youth of America" and while I don't totally despise Obama I can't say that he has any of the qualities I look for in a president.
12. because he is the freshest of all candidate among all. and he is young and cute and they are curious to see his what he can bring to the table i mean this is his first time.
13. Barack Obama is a relatively young man, well educated, good looking, and has been described by the media as a "man of change". The youth of America today, as the youth of America were in my day, in my mother and father's day, and my grandparent's day, welcome change. In my day, Elvis Presley represented change--my parents were not so ready to accept him. When my two daughters were young, I wasn't ready to accept heavy metal music. My parents aren't really comfortable with the "age of technology". I can't imagine anyone not being afraid of war; however, that fear will not be a deciding factor on my vote for the next President of the United States.
14. There are a number of reasons. He's fairly young. He's intelligent. He speaks about hope for the future. He talks about working together we can solve our problems. He has workable answers. For to long the future has looked rather bleak. He promises to change that.
