Will Barack Obama win the 2008 election ?
Perhaps. But I am wondering how is this man gonna tackle the issues of religion and so forth. With him being a Democratic President, he may have to confront issues concerning Atheism, and things..... And also race issues which may leave a bad taste in people's mouths. I don't know..... Also about his international influence with the world. And the war in Iraq, and Jihads. Will his maturity overcome his inexperience ? We shall see...... And will Barack Obama win the White vote, and are we ready for a Black President ? He may create change yes. But at times I wonder how, and what adversity he may face being a man of color. Best answer wins. ~~~ That's my point Syed. So if he loses, then people are gonna be very upset. When they should just go for Hillary Clinton, at best.

- Only if he is Jesus
- i don't like him on policy, regardless of race... I don't think he'll be elected, nor hillary...i just hope guliani makes it past the primarys
- Let's hope not. I'm not voting for him.
- I think he will approach religion the way a President should, which is to say, not address it at all.
- No its not American tradition to elect a black to the highest office.
- So much for secular America. Theoretically, religion shouldn't be in politics, only policies, so it shouldn't matter.
- Don't know yet, He hasn't really weathered any storms from the republicans yet.
- If I were to vote today, I would vote for Obama. And if he should not get the nomination, then whoever does (get the democratic nomination). I kinda think this question is in the wrong forum...... peace.
- Obama would be a nice consolation prize for president in the event Ron Paul is un-electable. of couse i would much rather Ron Paul be in the office so he can set so many of these 80-100 year problems with the US govenrment back into place. Federal Reserve must be abolished! Return the dollar to a monetary standard! Abolish the IRS! the government does not own our money! only then can real change and prosperity begin In terms of religion though, Ron Paul has the best stance as well. NO GOVERNMENT ACTION. and when in doubt, ALWAYS leave the choice in the individuals hands.
- Atheism is only an issue to those who choose to make it one. And Obama will never carry the South. Historically, if you can't do that, you have no shot to win.
- Please dont make race an issue regarding politics. Black men were able to vote before women could To me, it would be sad if there was a black prez before a female prez. Women make up over 50% of the population, blacks 16% If he does win, please dont cry about racism anymore
- He can't win nationally. Experience/Politics is a main issue but you can't discount race being an issue either.
- The Christians won't support him because he's an African American. They don't like non-caucasian, non-male candidates.
- hope not-saying we need changes is good but changing just to change accomplishs nothing-i dont think he has a plan other then wanting something different-do think that if you are going to try to run a country you should have some idea of what will work-we are finishing 8 years of someone who doesnt have a clue and the country is in pretty bad shape right now-dont need another 4------just my thoughts-smile and enjoy the day
- I think there;s a good chance he will be nominated by the Democrats as the preferred runner for the election. I'm not sure if he will win. I never thought I would see a black person become president of the US in my lifetime - if he did win I would hope it would be a beacon to other young black men that they can succeed in life. Regarding all the issues you've outlined, you could argue the same for all of the other candidates? Discussing race always leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Regarding the war in Iraq I can only hope that the public give whoever is elected to office the time to sort the situation out. The 2008 election won't be the answer to the situation in Iraq. It will be a step in the right direction but it won't solve things overnight.
- Hope he doesn't win.
- The United States has the policy of supporting Israel. The Bible in prophecy says that all the nations (not most, but ALL) will go against Israel in war. That being said, we can conclude that either the U.S. will cease to exist as a nation, or the policy will change. Give obama's past in the muslim school (and who knows for sure what else) he may be so inclined to withdraw support for Israel. Or, no matter who gets in, the economy here is bad enough that we could pretty much be "taken over" by a country with a stronger economy...many of our companies have moved overseas, and many that are here are foreign owned. An increasing amount of the food we eat is having to be imported. Okay, I guess I went off on a tangent, but it may be Obama will win. People here do not realize that while he uses our language, he may not be using the same definitions we do. People should ask exactly what he means by some of the words he uses.
- I really hope that if he wins, Atheism wont be his number one priority... seeing as how it has nothing to do with the way our country is run! Why is this question in the religious section?
- I think he's a great candidate, but I'm concerned that America is not ready for a Black President yet. However, I was pleased to see that he won in Iowa which is overwhelmingly White. So maybe America is finally ready for a Black President.
- i think he should be more concerned with the free trade act, health care, education funding, how about bringing are country back to its original state and getting us out of debt. i really think that all of these things are more important then "the issues of religion" don't you?
- I get soooo tired of the "America isnt ready for a black president" bs. Why does he have to be a black candidate? Why not just a candidate? Why not judge him for the content of his character instead of his skin color? But America is always ready for a white president, is that why our troops are overseas fighting in a pointless war and come home homeless. Homeless veterans. Hmmm go fight for a white president and come back homeless and forgotten!
- Can you say Ambassador Hotel 1968, he wont even get teh nomination because he wont have the chance.
