If you're referring to the photograph at a gathering where the candidates are on stage during the national anthem and he has his hands folded in front of him, a spokesperson for Mr. Obama stated on Inside Edition, "Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't [put his hand on his heart]. In no way was he making any sort of statement, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous." I just saw your added details. The "pledge of allegiance" connection exists only in chain emails.
