Is Barack Obama the real HOT TICKET? Will he want VP?
Noting how Edwards and Obama are "agreeing" on a couple of things already_coincidentally about Hillary_it's crossed my mind that maybe they're already pairing off as a ticket; with Obama_because of his youth and less experience_as Vice President? Anyone else thinks he may just want to go that way? I right away pictured in my mind that Edwards and Hillary must be pondering whether to ask Obama or not. They both need him. Whoever gets him wins the Whitehouse.

- I respectfully disagree. There is a group of people in the Clinton campaign already starting to oppose the possibility of Clinton-Obama. They believe that Obama, while attractive to the Democratic base, would not be able to carry enough swing states to win the election for Hillary Clinton. She needs to win 270 electoral votes, and given that Gore won 268 and Kerry won 252 she needs to be able to flip some of those swing states that went for Bush. This will be difficult for her given that she has little red state appeal, so the running mate will likely be expected to be able to make key swing states competitive. It is possible that she might pick Obama, as he is popular with Democrats, but that could be a mistake, because Kerry picked Edwards in large part because he was popular with the Democrats, but he was unable to help Kerry carry enough states to get to 270. Bob Shrum, who worked for Kerry's campaign, wrote that Kerry had said that he regretted picking Edwards and wished he had gone with Gephardt.
- Obama has excited a lot of ppl and could possibly be an excellent choice of as VP... I mean he does have a large portion of the Democratic party supporting him right now in running right on Hillary's heels. Not to mention, he has the majority of the African American vote. If he were to be selected to run as the winning candidate's VP, that's a lot of support added to the campaign. Of course there are the negatives also... some ppl are still prejudice and will not vote for a black man or a woman for that matter; although, both Obama's and Hillary's campaigns have already factored that into the equation. Overall, Obama as VP I really think would be a winning ticket.
