Is Barack Obama really for change?
The media has dubbed him the “progressive” candidate.. But what really is so different about him? “Obama's sixth and seventh important acts as a senator were to vote for a bill that made it nearly impossible for ordinary people to sue giant corporations who rob, defraud, maim or kill, and another vote to renew the hated Patriot Act which he vigorously campaigned against. And though Senator Obama now claims to oppose the war in Iraq, he remains advocate of bombing Iran to start yet another.” “Today, the Obama campaign is celebrating the 5th anniversary of the speech that then-State Senator Barack Obama gave opposing the invasion of Iraq. But unfortunately, they forgot to celebrate another anniversary. July 26th marked the 3rd anniversary of the New York Times story in which Obama admitted that he did not know how he would have voted on the Iraq resolution had he been serving in the United States Senate at the time of the vote.” -NBC

- No, he is a socialist.
- Yes. One cannot bring upon change so fast. The war cannot be called off by anyone. Imagine the disasters if that happened.
- Sometimes you takes what you can gets. You're not going to find a perfect, "sinless" progressive with any chance of winning, methinks. It's also a matter of comparison and contrast. Obama vs. a Gulliani or a Romney or a McCain looks pretty progressive by comparison.
- after seeing his voting record in the senate, no. he isn't. As I've said before, I am ashamed of my senators. both of them are pinheads.
- Obama is probably not for change. Obama DEFINATELY has the most absurd foreign policy. Pull out of Iraq (in other words surrender), go after Pakistan (a current ally) and promise the world that no matter what they do to us, he would NEVER resort to the use of nuclear weapons. - Not too bright.
- Like every other politician under the sun, he's not for change, he is for himself. I hate to burst your bubble, but you don't get to elect presidents, the selection is made for you by powerful campaigns that bus in voters (from places like colleges, nursing homes, etc.) who haven't the slightest clue who they are voting for and why.
- He will not really change something special, only tries to win the election!
- I don't think anyone knows anything about obama. He should stop going on tv shows like "the tyra banks show" and discussing what's on his ipod and actually go out there and answer some questions that are actually relevant to his running for the presidency. This says so much about him that i would never vote for him.
- he was a willingness to listen to new information and other peoples opinions and put together compromise positions, the complete opposite of our current "decider" president. this would be a huge and welcome change from what we have now i don't think Hillary and definitely not rudi are compromise rs its their way or the highway, do we really want more of that?
- Barack Obama is for himself. He's too naive and inexperienced to be president.
- No he is the same. Ron Paul is the only candidate willing to start real change and progression in America. Rather than moving toward tyranny liek the rest of the candidates will lead us.
- What has happened with the giant corporation thing is that a few bad apples spoil the bunch. you have this people who are professional suer's and that cost money when you are sued. I can only imagine how much a corporation has to pay for that but at the same time some people who deserve to sue do get shafted because of the bill.
- He's a socialist Democrat. The only "change" they want is higher taxes, more spending, amnesty for the illegals and having the government take care of everyone from cradle to grave. How do we spell DISASTER!
- I thought Obama was a good change at first, but now after hearing what he has to say, I think he is not qualified for being a president. He keeps putting his foot in his mouth, and does not seem like he is capable of being a good President. I believe the best choice is Rudy Giuliani. Sure he has some family issues, but he is amazing at what he does. If I could choose anybody for presidency, it would be Michael S. Steel, the former senator of Maryland, he is amazing at his job and he would have won if there werent so many liberals in Maryland.
