Is it just me, or did Barack Obama try to sound like Martin Luthar King during his victory speech last night?
I congratulate him for the win, but the emphasis of his words last night and his tone made it sound like he was trying to sound like MLK. Do you agree??

- Keep your racist comments to yourself
- No he didn't try to but he did. So you must be thinking about it more then others.
- i disagree Mr King would have mentioned God
- I'm in the UK and haven't heard the speech yet but I would imagine he would try and create echoes of MLK in order to secure the black vote. PS: I can't see why this question is considered racist. You haven't mentioned race.
- do you mean the "I have a dream" speech? Yeah, he did, except he didn't sound a thing like him. He sounded like a rookie senator who won by default and had nothing else to go on I have a dream too - that he will NEVER be in office - atleast until he has SEVERAL more years experience under his belt!
- No, and I am intimately familiar with Dr King's speeches (he was, to me, America's second-greatest orator after Frederick Douglass). I thought Obama's speech was OK. Over-long, not as inspirational as it could have been, but he was probably right to save the "big idea" speeches for later. Now, Hillary Clinton was definitely trying to imitate Dr King when she spoke in Selma... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIn_z1-Th_M
- I would love to hear it, been my experience that most politicians try to sound like someone that people know well.
- Better 2 be MLK than Jesse Jackson & Rev Sharpton. The Next Gen JFK??? Obama??? Wonder how he is on: Defense immigration Taxes Govt size etc IF Hes for We the People.
- naw it aint just u lol he did kinda try to sound like him but martin luther king is a great romodel so u know lol
