Rudy Giuliani? What are 3 main issues on Rudy Giuliani's views as to why he is best for the job of president. what are three main issues that make him best for president and why?
Does your average republican/conservative know where Rudy Giuliani stands on the issues???? Or are they just jumping on the bandwagon because he is a republican? Rudy= Pro-choice(for abortion) Pro-gun control Pro-gay marriage and gay rights Pro- federal funding of embryonic stem cell research Now i ask you Johnny Republican, do you really want that guy? Might as well vote for Hillary or Obama if you want someone so far left on the issues! Big John. Nice spin, but its not working.
Are you aware that Rudy Giuliani is a social issue liberal and is pro amnesty for illegals? He says that he will get tough on illegal alien criminals, but he has been a supporter of illegal aliens since his years as mayor of NYC. The letter gives strong reasons why Rudy Giuliani should not be President of the United States. The letter: Giuliani encourages illegal immigration: "Some of the hardest-working and most productive people in this city are undocumented aliens," Mr. Giuliani said. "If you come here and you work hard and you happen to be in an undocumented status, you're one of the people who we want in this city. You're somebody that we want to protect, and we want you to get out from under what is often a life of being like a fugitive, which is really unfair." " Source: "New York Officials Welcome Immigrants, Legal or Illegal", Deborah Sontag, June 10, 1994, New York Times. link: http://select.nytimes.com/search/restricted/articlees=FB071EFC385E0C738DDDAF0894DC494D81 Giuliani believes the federal government can't tackle illegal immigration: Giuliani believes the federal government can't tackle illegal immigration: "But in a country as large as ours, with our protection of individual liberty, and with a huge border that spans sea, deserts and mountains, and given the strong desire that people have to come to this country, the federal government may never be able to stop illegal immigration completely. At best, all we can expect is that the federal government will do a better job of patrolling our borders." Giuliani address at Harvard University, October 10, 1996. Rudy Giuliani, the Christian Right, and the future of the Republican Party? It's ironic that for a party that won the 2004 in large part due to the support of religious conservatives that the main frontrunners for the party's 2008 Presidential nomination all have problems with the Christian right. Romney is accused of flip-flopping, McCain had spoken out against leaders of the Christian right, and Giuliani has maintained his relatively liberal position on social issues. Fred Thompson, who many believed could emerge as the candidate for conservatives who were unhappy with the field, has also been criticized by many of the same people who are less than enthusiastic about him, plus the minor controversey that he once briefly lobbied for a pro-choice group. Leaders in the Christian right are so unhappy with the candidates that some are threatening to endorse a third-party candidate in the 2008 election if they are not satisfied. While this could certainly be an empty threat, meant to force the candidates to show their loyalty more, what if it happened. If Rudy Giuliani, a pro-choice Republican, is nominated, which seems likely at this early stage, it seems possible that it could happen. Would that mean that the election would go to the Democrats? Not neccessarily, Giuliani has moderate appeal, but if the nominee did end up being Rudy Giuliani, would they want the Republicans to lose? I think its possible. Unlike the other candidates, like Mitt Romney, who became anti-abortion, anti-stem cells, and anti-gay marriage just in time for 2008, and John McCain, who made nice with "agent of intolerance" Jerry Falwell, Giuliani has refused to change his positions on these issues, except for emphesizing his personal opposition to abortion (but still believing it should be legal) and therefore, making it clear that he will not be controlled by them. Think about it, if Rudy is nominated, and elected, in a matter of four years the Christian right could lose significant power in the national party. This could bring back the moderates in the party which have been losing power since the 80s. It could possibly split the part into factions, Giuliani's moderates, the religious conservatives, and possibly, if the trend continues over the next few years, a smaller group of Ron Paul/Barry Goldwater libertarians. If Giuliani lost, and say, Hillary Clinton became President, then the Christian conservatives could come back and say "well you needed us, and we won't vote for you if we don't like your candidate". Then they could fire up their base against divisive Hillary Clinton, If you think about it, in the long run, it would work out better for them. But they may also just make him compromise, which they still have the power to do. This was explored on The West Wing, where the Republicans nominated a moderate pro-choice Senator and he was forced to pick a running mate with stong conservative support. The story was criticized as unrealistic at the time but now it seems very possible.
Is Rudy Giuliani the main person to fight for marriage? This is absolutely comical! Rudy Giuliani obviously wants to run for Governor of New York. What is his main social issue to tackle? Marriage. He claims the sanctity of marriage needs to be protected, that marriage is between a man and a woman. Now, if this statement was made by anyone else...I would listen and accept his opinion. However, Rudy is a three time divorcee, one of which was to his second cousin and is a cross-dressing drag queen! Really...Rudy. Back off, you hypocritical piece of crap!!!
Do you think Rudy Giuliani would really get past the religious right and obtain the Republican nomination? There is no way that the religious right would stand for Giuliani to be their candidate. He is very liberal when it comes to issues like abortion, gun control, and the like. I think he is just way too "New York City" to fly with the backbone of the Republican party, which are conservative people in the South and Midwest. I don't think this group of people would even consider voting for a pro-choice candidate, Republican or not. Therefore, I think it is complete bunk that he will actually get the nomination. If he does, the stuff will hit the fan for sure. LOL tiredofit, at least liberals have clean hair, apparently! :-P
Why Hasn’t Rudy Giuliani Read the 9-11 Commission Report? During the "First in the South" GOP debate in South Carolina, one thing was made clear: Rudy Giuliani does not understand how to keep America safe. When Congressman Ron Paul, who has long served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, explained how 50 years of American interventionism in the Middle East has helped compromise our national security, Giuliani interrupted saying he had "never heard anything so absurd." This statement is particularly troubling coming from the former mayor who tries to cast himself as a security expert, since Dr. Paul's point comes directly from the bi-partisan 9-11 Commission Report. "Rudy Giuliani has tip-toed around the issues of abortion, guns and marriage. The only issue he has left is security, and he doesn't even get that right," said campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "It is clear from his interruption that former Mayor Giuliani has not read the 9-11 Commission Report and has no clue on how to keep America safe."
Where do the presidential frontrunners stand on these issues? I was hoping someone could give me a some clear and concise answers on where John Edwards, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney stood on these issues that are important to me. 1) How do they feel about campaign finance reform, and lobbying reform. 2) What are their basic plans for the future of health care 3) Do they support gays and lesbians right to marry 4) Do they support military action in Iran
Is Rudy Giuliani a chickenhawk? Giuliani is of the right age that he could have gone to war in Vietnam. However, it does appear that he was trying to become a Catholic priest at that time (which seems odd for somebody who later went on to get divorced 3 times and whose views on social issues are far removed from those of the Catholic Church). Giuliani apparently decided against becoming a priest and went to law school. At this time, he was apparently a hippie who volunteered for RFK and voted for McGovern. He later became a conservative when he became a police officer in the 70s. And, as anybody who pays attention knows, Rudy is probably the most pro-war presidential candidate and is alot more pro-war than Bush. Since Rudy meets the definition of a chickenhawk, does that mean that he is a chickenhawk? Has there ever been a more obvious example of a chickenhawk? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Giuliani
Are Hillary Clinton & Rudy Giuliani really related??? If not they otta be, as their ideologies & stand on issues are virtually a carbon copy! I mean what's the difference between these two politicians, anything??? Is this just a case of socialist party candidate"A" & socialist party candidate "B"? If anything Rudy seems more socialist of mind than Hillary on our 2nd amendment rights tho Hillary seems hell bent on curtailing first amendment rights. How in heck did Rudy ever get on the supossed conservative republican ticket all those years back during the beginning of the Reagan era? Does the republican party even have a platform, anybody, I need an answer here pleeeese! Good Christ even Newt "I did not cheat on my wife" Gingrich is lambasting Rudy "little Mussolini" Giuliani! Is Ron Paul America's last TRUE constitutional conservative representative or what???
(Republicans Only) Should Rudy Giuliani be President in 2008? Don't answer this question if you are a fat, nasty liberal who thinks Hillary Clinton will be your sugar mamma if she becomes President. I want to know what Republicans think about Giuliani. People say he's too liberal on social issues, but I think the people saying that are liberals. They say he isn't going to do anything about illegal immigration or prevent more abortions. Is he really too liberal? He has a book out. Giuliani: Leadership is the name of it.
Who is attacking Rudy Guiliani and gun control issues? This is a cut and paste from Rudy Guliani's web site: ------------ Rudy Giuliani is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. He understands that every law-abiding American has an individual right to keep and bear arms that is guaranteed by the Constitution. To deal with a city where crime was out of control, Mayor Giuliani worked to get guns out of the hands of criminals — resulting in a 66% drop in the murder rate and 72% reduction in criminal related shootings. The best way to deal with gun crime is to prosecute the criminals and enforce the laws already on the books. Rudy Giuliani will make sure that if someone commits a crime with a gun, they will go to prison for the mandatory sentence. ------ There is a group on here suggesting Rudy opposes the individuals right to keep and bear arms. Who is it? Jim T. Thanks for the information. I think its pertinent and it means people should challenge Rudy on the issue. I don't think the Brady Bill has hurt law abiding gun owners (it hasn't me) but the other quotes and issues seem alarming.
Will Rudy Giuliani be Just Like Bush? Can we expect a long protracted war with the American economy sinking faster and faster into econmic debt and national ruin? Former FBI Director Louis Freeh, a Giuliani friend and adviser on homeland security issues, said in an interview: "I would say they're very much joined at the hip on these policies, and particularly the mind-set and commitment of both the president and Mayor Giuliani to stay on offense. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20071026/D8SH48C01.html
Is Rudy Giuliani a well-liked/respected politician in NY? we had mitt romney here in MA and have known since he arrived that we were nothing but a stepping stone to wash for him. he's not impressive to most but, unfortunately, he's a handsome man and can look the part. please do not let any of this fool you. it seems people outside NY will always relate Rudy to 9/11 but i do remember all of the issues he was dealing with prior to that year and some of them made him look pretty bad. i watched the debate in NH and many said he "won", that he was the most impressive. i would never vote for him, (i'm a democrat) but i'm just curious to hear some new yorker's opinions of his politics. i know he's had an active personal life, don't care about that.
Do you agree with Fred Thompson that Rudy Giuliani is an enemy of the 2nd Amendment? BRISTOL, N.H. - Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson said Friday that New York City isn't a model for the rest of the country and that Rudy Giuliani should stop basing his stances on his time as that city's mayor. Gun rights is a key issue among libertarian-leaning primary voters in New Hampshire. "(Giuliani) simply supported just about every gun control legislation that came down the pike. I just disagree with him on that," Thompson said. "I saw he was at bill signing ceremonies with (New York Sen.) Chuck Schumer and President Clinton and others for gun control legislation over the years." Thompson also said the Democrats would do everything they could to end gun rights. "They were against gun rights for a long time and they paid for it at the polls," he said. "I don't think Americans think taking guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens makes for a safer America" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071123/ap_on_el_pr/thompson_giuliani;_ylt=Aun0EHpInHzsn2mQnBNj1J6s0NUE
Why are frontrunners of the Democratic and Republican parties running campaigns on their greatest failures? Hillary Clinton - the issue she's chosen to base her campaign on is health care, which was a embarrassing disaster when Clinton was in office Rudy Giuliani - the issue he's chosen to base his campaign on is national security, for which he claims he is a hero, but pretty much everyone from victims families to fire fighters say he's a horrible liar and a national disgrace for exploiting 9/11 for furthering his political agenda
are you republicans really serious about Rudy Giuliani? ok so mr. giuliani is becoming a serious candidate. i have one good question to all of you conservatives?? ARE YOU CRAZY?? how can a party that prides itself on good ole christian values and morality even consider someone that has been married 3 times and admittedly had an affair while still married to his second wife with the women that is now his third wife? isnt that the same immorality that you all nailed bill clinton to the wall for? isnt permiscuous sexual behavior one of the morality issues that you condemn homosexuality on? . and before all of you start ranting about me being a no good liberal with loose morals! FYI I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO MY ONE AND ONLY WIFE OF 2O YEARS SO UNLESS YOU HAVE THE SAME STRONG FAMILY VALUES, JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!! THANK YOU!!
If Rudy Giuliani is elected will he still march in Gay Pride parades ? He lived with a gay couple during one of his divorces, so I think he will. http://pewforum.org/religion08/compare.php?Issue=Gay_Marriage HOLLYWOOD54...it think he should/will even if it means he has to "ride" in it btw...the link i provided (though right wing) is a good and fair source if you want a side beside comparison on the canidates cvq3842...gay bashing dem...now there's one i haven't heard before...hmmm
Are religious Republican voters supporting Rudy Giuliani because they perceive the war on terror as issue #1?? Is Rudy doing so well at this late stage because the religious right perceives his leadership and strength for waging the war on terrorism with his natural convictions (i.e. giving the Saudi Prince his money back rather than accepting his patronizing criticism). Has the religious right accepted a non-ideal candidate issue-wise for and ideal candidate best suited for the issue at hand----defeating those who wish to destroy American Freedom? Followup: Is the possibility of the religious right embracing a mainstream centrist candidate with a record of accomplishment the worst nightmare for left-wing I-want-America-to-leave-Iraq-defeated-by-AlQaeda Hillary supporters?
When will Rudy Giuliani address this? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17869046/ “'He disrespected us in the most horrific way' Giuliani, the leader in polls of Republican voters for his party's nomination, has been faulted on two major issues: - His administration's failure to provide the World Trade Center's first responders with adequate radios, a long-standing complaint from relatives of the firefighters killed when the twin towers collapsed. The Sept. 11 Commission noted the firefighters at the World Trade Center were using the same ineffective radios employed by the first responders to the 1993 terrorist attack on the trade center. Regenhard, at a 2004 commission hearing in Manhattan, screamed at Giuliani, "My son was murdered because of your incompetence!" The hearing was a perfect example of the 9/11 duality: Commission members universally praised Giuliani at the same event. -A November 2001 decision to step up removal of the massive rubble pile at ground zero. The firefighters were angered when the then-mayor reduced their numbers among the group searching for remains of their lost "brothers," focusing instead on what they derided as a "scoop and dump" approach. Giuliani agreed to increase the number of firefighters at ground zero just days after ordering the cutback.” “More than 5 1/2 years later, body parts are still turning up in the trade center site. "We want America to know what this guy meant to New York City firefighters," said Peter Gorman, head of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association. "In our experiences with this man, he disrespected us in the most horrific way." The two-term mayor, in his appearance before the Sept. 11 Commission, said the blame for the death and destruction of Sept. 11 belonged solely with the terrorists. "There was not a problem of coordination on Sept. 11," he testified. Giuliani was also criticized for locating the city's emergency center in 7 World Trade Center, a building that contained thousands of gallons of diesel fuel when it collapsed after the terrorist attack.”
Giuliani on Gay rights and Gay marriage.. your thoughts? Michael Long, chairman of the New York state Conservative Party states, "The gay marriage issue draws a line down the middle of the street, and Rudy Giuliani is something of a champion of gay rights."[11] During his mayorality, gays and lesbians in New York asked for domestic-partnership rights. Giuliani in turn pushed the city's Democratic-controlled City Council, which had avoided the issue for years, to then pass legislation providing broad protection for same-sex partners.[12] In 1998, he codified local law by granting all city employees equal benefits for their domestic partners.[13] Giuliani also allowed gays and lesbians to serve openly in his administration.[14] When Guliani divorced from his wife in 2000, he moved temporarily into the apartment of a wealthy gay couple.[15] "You can't get much more to the left than Giuliani was on gay issues," says Joseph Mercurio, a bipartisan political consultant.[16] Giuliani doesnt usually try to hide his sympathies, but during his aborted run for office in the U.S. Senate in 2000, Guliniani did declare: "The institution of marriage should remain defined as a man and a woman". However, he is an open supporter for more gay and lesbian rights. According to 365 Gay News, 'America's most-read gay news': "Giuliani said that broad-brush themes, like limited government, ought to define the Republican Party - not hot-button social issues like abortion and gay rights."[6] Guliani stated to NBCs Meet the Press, that he would oppose the federal ban on gay marriage, and other republican candidates claim that he is even "pro-gay marriage".
Is Rudy Guilani just a liberal in GOP clothing? Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York. "I used gun control as mayor," he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But "I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms." He said what he did as mayor would have "no effect on hunting". Sounds like any other mealy-mouthed democratic liberal. Sounds like Hanoi John Kerry, as a matter of fact. HEY RUDY? The right to keep and bear arms has NOTHING to do with hunting. Okay? Jeez! Why don't we just kick this b*stard out of the Republican Party?
President Hillary Giuliani & VP Rudy Clinton, a winning team!!!? Boy, talk about two peas in a pod here! Can't tell which one is a socialist republican or a socialist democrat, can any of you? Their just both bonkers on $social$programs$, control issues like fire arm ownership, social engineering schemes like PC & $tobacco$, & $$$TAX$$$ issues like $global$warming$! Boy, with these two at the "helm" the ole bell on the tax register otta be going off continuously, like 24/7!!! Throw in Bloomberg as first lady & we'd have the DREAM TEAM!!! Short of Larry, Curly & Moe who could beat this trilogy of tax terror!?
Are the Dems aware that the World Trade Center in New York City no longer exists? Global warming, health care and oil prices are all very good issues to deal with. But we do have a more pressing issue at hand. I must agree with Rudy Giuliani that the Dems are indeed living in the nineties. I would even say that the Dems are living in a Sept. 10, 2001 world. Terrorism exists, whether you like it or not, Dems. There are a bunch of people who are out there who want to kill us regardless of political affiliation. You would do well to keep that in mind. There's this huge 16 acre hole in lower Manhattan that could attest to that. And FYI, these people hated us LONG BEFORE this stupid Iraq war. Bash me if you must because of my question and comments but it is the sincere truth: Republicans take terrorism more seriously then Democrats.
Has Rudy Giulanni read the 9/11 commishion report? During the "First in the South" GOP debate in South Carolina last night, one thing was made clear: Rudy Giuliani does not understand how to keep America safe. Are you surprised by the Iowa votes? Why do you think they nominated who they did - issues? Here is a really good breakdown of number of votes for everyone. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21229206 Democrats: number of votes: Barack Obama: 940 John Edwards: 744 Hillary Clinton: 737 Bill Richardson: 53 Joe Biden: 23 Uncommitted: 3 Chris Dodd: 1 Mike Gravel: 0 Dennis Kucinich: 0 100% of precincts reporting Total number of votes for Democrats: 2,501 ***** Republicans: number of votes Mike Huckabee: 39,814 Mitt Romney: 29,405 Fred Thompson: 15,521 John McCain: 15,248 Ron Paul: 11,598 Rudy Giuliani: 4,013 Duncan Hunter: 515 96% of precincts reporting. The truth about Rudy? Why Hasn’t Rudy Giuliani Read the 9-11 Commission Report? May 16, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ARLINGTON, VA – During the "First in the South" GOP debate in South Carolina last night, one thing was made clear: Rudy Giuliani does not understand how to keep America safe. What Flaws Do The Republican Candidates Have On Immigration? Let's See: Mitt Romney has Illegal Aliens working for him. Rudy Giuliani made New York a Sanctuary City For Illegals. Mike Huckabee wanted to use Tax Dollars to educate Illegals. John McCain wanted to give Amnesty to Illegals. Of course they are all flip flopping on those issues now.
Why would Rudy have a reporter with legal credentials arrested for asking a question after the debate? I do not necessarily support this reporter or who he works for. I just find it amazing that Rudy will have you arrested if he does not like what you ask him while the camera is rolling. What about the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Press? What do you think? http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0706/S00036.htm Reporters were questioning Giuliani staff members on a variety of issues, including his apparent ignorance of the 9/11 Commission Report, according to Bermas. The staff members accused the reporters of Ron Paul partisanship, which press denied. It was at this point that Lepacek, who was streaming a live report, asked a staff member about Giuliani's statement to Peter Jennings that he was told beforehand that the WTC buildings would collapse. Giuliani's press secretary then called over New Hampshire state police, fingering Lepacek....... Freedom to Fascism reporter Samuel Ettaro was also dragged out after asking a question on Giuliani's ties with Cintra and Macquerie, two foreign contractors involved with the contentious Trans-Texas Corridor under development in Texas. The entire incident took place in a large press auditorium, apart from the debate stages where authorized media were able to question candidates and their handlers. Since when do campaign operatives have the power to order state police to arrest someone on false charges or arbitrate who has the right to conduct journalism, a right guarded by the Constitution? Nikki - I could post the youtube video link if you prefer to see it for yourself. Some youtube videos have been showing up with viruses is why I opted for a text format. Of course this was not reported by the US press so far. video link - at your own risk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOerYpJse30
Americans to come out of the shadows and remind Washington every day in words and actions that we are a sovere Will the execution-style murder of three young students in Newark, N.J., finally turn the tide in the immigration-enforcement debate? Will we at last abandon the deadly, chaotic, lawless sanctuary-nation experiment and restore America’s lost status as a sovereign nation under the rule of law? The death of six innocent men and women and the injury of more than 1,000 at the hands of several illegal alien 1993 World Trade Center bombers wasn’t enough to convince politicians in New York and across this country to end illegal-alien sanctuary policies. The death of nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children at the hands of the 9/11 jihadists who exploited our lax entrance and visa-enforcement policies in 2001 wasn’t enough. The death of ten innocent men and women in the Washington, D.C., area at the hands of an illegal-alien sniper and his bloodthirsty mentor in 2002 wasn’t enough. But now we are in the heat of a presidential-election cycle. The open-borders opportunists in immigration-enforcement clothing are professing to see the light. With illegal-alien murder suspect Jose Carranza and his alleged MS-13 gang-banging boy helpers who are being sought in the brutal Newark murder case dominating the news on the eastern seaboard, politicians can’t find a camera fast enough to condemn the very sanctuary policies they promoted and tolerated for decades — sanctuary policies I’ve highlighted for years in this column. Amnesty-first GOP presidential candidate John McCain is now singing the enforcement-first tune. And GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani vowed Tuesday to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S. He’s touting a “tamper-proof ID card” that includes fingerprints for everyone entering the country and a central database to track when they leave. What Rudy-come-lately fails to comprehend is that there are already multiple alien tracking databases mandated by federal law that have yet to be fully implemented, integrated and used. The reason they don’t work is because open-borders interests have sabotaged them by restricting funding for them, objecting to them on civil liberties grounds, and pushing local and state governments to forbid public employees from checking them to verify citizenship status. Ring a bell, Rudy? Giuliani’s newfound border security zeal is intended to blunt criticism by GOP rival Mitt Romney of Giuliani’s pro-sanctuary record as NYC mayor. Giuliani has issued Clintonian denials that he supported sanctuary. But the record is clear. New York City’s sanctuary policy was created in 1989 by Democrat Mayor Ed Koch and upheld by every mayor succeeding him. When Congress enacted immigration reform laws that forbade local governments from barring employees from cooperating with the INS, Giuliani filed suit against the feds in 1997. He was rebuffed by two lower courts, which ruled that the sanctuary order amounted to special treatment for illegal aliens and was nothing more than an unlawful effort to flaunt federal enforcement efforts against illegal aliens. In January 2000, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal, but Giuliani vowed to ignore the law. To this day, the city’s policy of safe harbors for illegal immigrants stands. Giuliani successor Michael Bloomberg defiantly reiterated the official sanctuary posture of NYC this week: “Let ‘em come.” Could he be more callous, cavalier and out of touch in a post-9/11 world? From New York to Newark to Seattle to Portland to San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego to Houston to Miami, lawmakers have taken this go-with-the-flow attitude toward illegal alien border-crossers and visa overstayers and deportation fugitives. “Let ‘em come.” But in the wake of the Newark murders and the illumination of illegal alien gang crime penetrating the country, a new rallying cry came from the lips of Newark Mayor Cory Booker: “Get this evil out of my city.” That won’t happen without a demonstrated commitment to cooperate with the feds to enforce immigration laws and deport violent and dangerous criminal aliens first. A few weeks ago, I launched deportthemnow.com. Nearly 8,000 volunteers have signed up to make their voices heard. Our top priorities will be to push for the adoption of a program known as 287(g) to identify criminal illegal aliens in as many cities as possible; to repeal “don’t ask-don’t tell” sanctuary laws; and to support lawmakers like Newark City Councilman Ron C. Rice, who is pushing a resolution to coordinate efforts between law enforcement when an illegal immigrant is charged with a felony, and New Jersey Assemblyman Richard Merkt (R., Morris), who proposed prohibiting jail officials from releasing illegal immigrants and requiring them to be remanded to federal authorities. It’s time for ordinary Americans to come out of the shadows and remind Washington every day in words and actions that we are a sovereign nation, not a sanctuary nation. No more promises. No need to wait for Election ‘08. Just do it.
Who do you think has the best chance to win? Who do you think has the best chance to win? Of the Democratic selection who do you think has a chance to win? Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Barack Obama Of the Republican party who do you think has a chance to win? Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney Why? I think Clinton and Obama have the upper hand. They are both strong candidates addressing real issues. I have heard great things about Giuliani and the way he cleaned up NY, so maybe its possible for him to get a good number of votes. flgop4me: I’ll make a note of that! You’ve got my attention now! geri_85a: I agree with you. We do only see Demos and Repubs, but that’s because those are the parties that make the most attention for themselves. Honestly, I haven’t heard much about Ron Paul, but the 20% tax thing sounds nice.
MAX: If our current Presidential candidates REFUSE to honorably deal with the issues, what can be done . . . ? If our current Presidential candidates REFUSE to honorably deal with the issues, what can be done or what can we do? Would you agree with the following: 1. Organize in an effort to bring public pressure on the candidates. 2. By organizing, you can make your collective voices heard and action can then be taken. 3. If you don't organize, our current politicians will take the easy road out and not stand up for freedom, justice, and democratic values ... as many have no intestinal fortitude and no integrity. This, the above, can be said about Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, Alan Keyes, John McCain, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Tom Tancredo, Fred Thompson, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Christopher Dodd, Barak Obama, John Edwards, Mile Gravel, Dennis Kucinich, Bill Richardson, and perhaps Al Gore among them all. Would you agree with me that the public SHOULD be told and made aware of the real issues (true issues), so that the will be in a position to make better choices in 2008? . I AM NOT LOOKING FOR STUPID, QUICKY ANSWERS or one liners. This is a very serious issue and I would like to (1) see your opinions and (2) well-thought-out ideas and answers! I allow people to change or modify their answers from time to time and this is such a serious and important question that it merits your very sincere and undivided attention. . If you have any questions, you may e-mail me at peacenegotiator at gmail dot com and I will post your letter with answers at http://chinatownhawaii.com/answers . . ===================================== dstr, thank you very much for expressing your concerns. My statements above and question is directed to all posters and not just to Dennis Kucinich fans. My position on Election 2008 is that I would like to see the best person and hopefully an honest and upright person become our next President. (1) The future will hold many challenges for America and (2) China will or may have an upright President at its helm. A good man, an honorable man, a truthful man, who is and will be a good and capable leader. We hope the same for the US as we, Chinese, some of us, are not an axis of evil! If America does not meet up to the challenge, then perhaps the evil that America has done in the Bush administration will be made known and will become apparent to the entire world nations. Goodness is better, than Rudy and Hillarry lies about Iraq, said as an example and not necessarily as an attack on Giuliani and Clinton. . Ps: My link is not up yet. Thank you. I do appreciate your kindness. .
Who do you think is more likely to win the Republican primary? Who do you think is more likely to win the Republican primary? What do you think about each of the Republicans running in the primary? I think it will come down to Rudy Giuliani or John McCain. Rudy did alot of great things for New York City and McCain seems to have a great working knowledge of foreign policies and issues. I don't think it would be wise to put any of the other republicans against Hillary or Obama. Fred Thompson, though I like him, makes exaggerated remarks that give you a feeling of too much drama. Mitt Romney just seems like a fish out of water. Ron Paul is that grouchy old man that yells at kids for ringing his doorbell on Holloween even though his porch light is on. Mike Huckabee seems to be a good guy but just isn't known well enough. The rest are ghosts, never heard of unless their name is being called during a debate and forgotten seconds after they're done speaking.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of each presidental candidate? The Presidential election is over 2 years away still and everyone seems to be lining up to run. Who is your favorite candidate and what are their strengths and weaknesses? For example here is how I see Rudy and Hillary Hillary Clinton Strengths – Name recognition due to her husband. Liberal. One of a handful of women to be President of the USA Weaknesses – She is very controversial, has no experience running a state or local government. Has not successfully sponsored or co-sponsored any legislation in the senate. Tends to flip flop on issues depending on which way the wind is blowing in the polls. Wants to raise taxes. Several people that used to work with her said that she has an extremely bad temper. Rudy Giuliani Strengths – Ran the City of New York, proven leader in time of national crisis for his role in the 9/11 disaster. Not a traditional Republican because he supports abortion and gay rights so he attracts more of a moderate base. Is for lower taxes Weaknesses – Supports abortion and gay rights, which is a turn off for some Republicans.
What are you views on presidential election coming up next year? Choose at least one issue that is important to you. It can be anything from healthcare to education to the war in Iraq. Explain what you think the problem is. Then, choose one of the presidential candidates that you like and explain how you think that person will deal with the issue. The most notable Democratic candidates are Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama, and the most notable Republican candidates are Rudy Giuliani and John McCain, but you can choose any of the potential candidates.
