Is Rudy Giuliani qualified to be President of the United States? Rudy Giuliani may have been a good Mayor, but that hardly qualifies him to be the leader of the United States. Making sure peoples garbage is picked up and cleaning graffiti off of buildings are not great feats compared to the responsibilities of the President. If Rudy Giuliani becomes President, could it not be argued that Al-Qaeda put him into power? Rudy Giuliani gained national recognition after 9/11. He was named Person of the Year by the New York Times, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth, and now he's a leading candidate for the Presidency. If it wasn't for the Al-Qaeda attacks on 9/11, none of that would've happened. So apparently 9/11 was great for his political career. If he wins the presidental election, it seems like he would owe his success to Al-Qaeda. Why should I vote for Rudy Giuliani for President? O.K. I would like to know WHY I should vote for Giuliani for President of my United States. Here is what I do know: Yes, he ran the largest city in the United States and did a decent job of it. He didn't have to deal with a Congress to get his agenda across though. How does this qualify him to run a country... He has NEVER served on the national level. He is a fairly liberal conservative (in my view). How do I know he will fight for what I believe in? The most important of which is restoring the economy and downsizing the federal government. Is Rudy Giuliani eligible to run for President? It has come to my attention that Rudy Giuliani was knighted for his efforts after the attacks on 9/11. Since the title of "Knight" or "Sir" is one of great importance in England is this a conflict with the Constitution somehow? I was hearing from someone that the U.S. Constitution stipulates that to be eligible you cannot hold any other offices, titles, or accept money from other countries because it would be a conflict of interest. I am a proud liberal, and completely hate the Bush administration like most other liberals, but I wanna know what other liberals think about Rudy Giuliani as president in 2008. I know he's a republican but he's very moderate and progressive..for example he seems to be pretty tolerant of gays, as well as tough on gun control, AND he's pretty tolerant of illegal immigrants. Being mayor of New York city, he seems to be able to work well with democrats. My Giuliani is a very honest and genuine individual, and although I am not republican I would consider voting for him. I only want to hear from other liberals and progressive minded individuals.
