Hillary Clinton vs Rudy Giuliani 2008 ??? Does anyone out there actually think for a moment that, "Hillary 'Lightening Rod' Left Wing-Liberal-ACLU-Lover, Queen of Mean-Solutionless-Cover Up for Slick Willy's Sexploits Clinton", could seriously debate a giant of man such as Rudy Giuliani for the higest office of the land!? Some might forget while Hillary defended Bobby Seale the Black-Panther anarchist for murdering a "snitch" Rudy Giuliana broke the back of organized crime and went on to reduce crime in NYC by 76% in his first term. He cleaned up the horror of the Black Democratic Mayor Dinkins adminstration, who was accused of actually taking furniture out of Gracie Mansion after his term was up! Would you vote for Rudy Giuliani for President in 2008? In a press conference in Ft. Lauderdale Florida Rudy Giuliani stated that he was "very interested in considering" a run for president but would not make a decision until after the november election. The question is a 2 parter: Will you vote for Rudy if he runs? If he runs and wins can Rudy help heal the political divide in the country in your opinion?
(Republicans Only) Should Rudy Giuliani be President in 2008? Don't answer this question if you are a fat, nasty liberal who thinks Hillary Clinton will be your sugar mamma if she becomes President. I want to know what Republicans think about Giuliani. People say he's too liberal on social issues, but I think the people saying that are liberals. They say he isn't going to do anything about illegal immigration or prevent more abortions. Is he really too liberal? He has a book out. Giuliani: Leadership is the name of it.
Decision 2008: Hillary Clinton vs. Rudy Giuliani? Sorry to disappoint anyone who may disagree, but no force known to man is going to stop this general election matchup. Let's be realistic, this will be a Clash of Titans. Among a VAST number of factors, here are three "major" things to consider: 1. Will Mrs. Clinton be able to attract at least 8% of the republican women vote? 2. Will Mr. Giuliani be able to garner at least 73% of the evangelical vote? 3. Who will win New York State? On November 4, 2008, America will answers these questions.
Rudy Giuliani vs Hillary Clinton in 2008: Who wins New York and California? What do you think? chainsaw - The question wasn't about the primaries was it? This is a hypothetical question, you know, a "what if" question. A D - He didn't lose to Hillary. He withdrew before the election because he had prostate cancer. sleepy - I think NY and Cali do matter. Together they are 86 electoral votes and if you want to add Texas in there too it'll be 120 votes.
Please help me...about 2008 elections-need to know a lot about Rudy Giuliani? If anyone knows main things(main events-why he decided to run for president, things he supports, things he doesn't support) please tell me! And don't just give me a bunch of websites. I am mostly looking for why he decided to run for president and one or two main events in his life that led to him wanting to be president. Thank you so much!
Rudy Giuliani? If he runs for president in 2008 would you vote for him? Why or why not?
Is Rudy Giuliani following the party line? In the Inland Empire yesterday, Giuliani claims that he can beat Hillary in 2008. However, he uses the same party lines all Repubs use e.g, that Dems will raise taxes, create big bureaucracies and be against big business. If you remember, Bush said the same things about Gore. Is Rudy just another knucklehead that will bring the U.S. into another fiscal disaster and prolonged war in Iraq? It appears to me that he is following in Bush II's footsteps. What do you think?
Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected pres in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack "But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped." http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0407/3684.html ummmm ... check me if I'm wrong here ... but didn't all this stuff happen on the Republican watch ? what is this, some form of ' believe what I say ... not what you see happen' How can the Republicans be in power when these things happen, and yet, say we are less safe with a democrat ? ... they must think we're idiots netjr - so ... who cares when it was planned ... I care when it happens and ... are you saying if a terroist attack happens to our next president, it'll be Bush's fault ... because its being planned now please tell me your not so obtuse
Would you as a liberal vote for Rudy Giuliani for president in 2008? I am a proud liberal, and completely hate the Bush administration like most other liberals, but I wanna know what other liberals think about Rudy Giuliani as president in 2008. I know he's a republican but he's very moderate and progressive..for example he seems to be pretty tolerant of gays, as well as tough on gun control, AND he's pretty tolerant of illegal immigrants. Being mayor of New York city, he seems to be able to work well with democrats. My Giuliani is a very honest and genuine individual, and although I am not republican I would consider voting for him. I only want to hear from other liberals and progressive minded individuals.
Rudy Giuliani, the Christian Right, and the future of the Republican Party? It's ironic that for a party that won the 2004 in large part due to the support of religious conservatives that the main frontrunners for the party's 2008 Presidential nomination all have problems with the Christian right. Romney is accused of flip-flopping, McCain had spoken out against leaders of the Christian right, and Giuliani has maintained his relatively liberal position on social issues. Fred Thompson, who many believed could emerge as the candidate for conservatives who were unhappy with the field, has also been criticized by many of the same people who are less than enthusiastic about him, plus the minor controversey that he once briefly lobbied for a pro-choice group. Leaders in the Christian right are so unhappy with the candidates that some are threatening to endorse a third-party candidate in the 2008 election if they are not satisfied. While this could certainly be an empty threat, meant to force the candidates to show their loyalty more, what if it happened. If Rudy Giuliani, a pro-choice Republican, is nominated, which seems likely at this early stage, it seems possible that it could happen. Would that mean that the election would go to the Democrats? Not neccessarily, Giuliani has moderate appeal, but if the nominee did end up being Rudy Giuliani, would they want the Republicans to lose? I think its possible. Unlike the other candidates, like Mitt Romney, who became anti-abortion, anti-stem cells, and anti-gay marriage just in time for 2008, and John McCain, who made nice with "agent of intolerance" Jerry Falwell, Giuliani has refused to change his positions on these issues, except for emphesizing his personal opposition to abortion (but still believing it should be legal) and therefore, making it clear that he will not be controlled by them. Think about it, if Rudy is nominated, and elected, in a matter of four years the Christian right could lose significant power in the national party. This could bring back the moderates in the party which have been losing power since the 80s. It could possibly split the part into factions, Giuliani's moderates, the religious conservatives, and possibly, if the trend continues over the next few years, a smaller group of Ron Paul/Barry Goldwater libertarians. If Giuliani lost, and say, Hillary Clinton became President, then the Christian conservatives could come back and say "well you needed us, and we won't vote for you if we don't like your candidate". Then they could fire up their base against divisive Hillary Clinton, If you think about it, in the long run, it would work out better for them. But they may also just make him compromise, which they still have the power to do. This was explored on The West Wing, where the Republicans nominated a moderate pro-choice Senator and he was forced to pick a running mate with stong conservative support. The story was criticized as unrealistic at the time but now it seems very possible.

Rudy Giuliani...so what exactly does this mean?? So I've started researching 2008 presidential candidates (it'll be the first time I get to vote...I'm excited) and their views and editorials and praises (try to keep an open mind). Well I was on Rudy Giuliani's website and this is what he had to say on his view on gay marriage. "Rudy Giuliani believes marriage is between a man and a woman. He does not—and has never—supported gay marriage. But he believes in equal rights under law for all Americans. That’s why he supports domestic partnerships that provide stability for committed partners in important legal and personal matters, while preserving the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman." So does that mean that he would legalize gay marriage even though he doesn't personally agree with it because it's what the constitution allows? Is "domestic partnerships" the same as "gay marriage" or does that just mean that it would be legal for them to live together just not get married or what? so how is a domestic partnership different than gay marriage?
Do you agree with Rudy Giuliani that Obama is riding a wave of anti-Americanism ? According to The Hill: July 10, 2008 Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-N.Y.) said Thursday that Barack Obama is capturing 'an anti-American feeling' responding to Obama telling a town hall audience in Georgia that their children should learn to speak Spanish. "Well this is why he is a popular candidate in Europe, because there is such an anti-American feeling and he is sort of capturing that," Giuliani said on MSNBC. http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2008/07/10/giuliani-obama-capturing-an-anti-american-feeling/ http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id=09730c76-5fa9-48d6-95c0-8dc4001aac22 As a patriotic American who loves the USA, I must agree with the Mayor's analysis.
Hillary vs Rudy poll? Will Hillary Clinton run against Rudy Giuliani in the 2008 Presidential race? Both are logical choices to represent their parties. The GOP's Giuliani is a national hero for his 911 efforts as NYC mayor in 2001. And Hillary is probably the democrat's strongest horse, due to her lopsided win as senator from New York State. Also, our former First Lady would no doubt pull sticker support from both parties. Such stickers might read: "RUN HILLARY RUN." Democrats would put the stickers on their rear window. Republicans will paste them on the front bumper, as they jested to do in the Senate race.

Rudy Giuliani for President?? Please feed back...? Currently, the Republican party is trying to convince former New York Mayor, Rudy Giuliani to run for President 2008...I think it's a GREAT idea, do you? I want some truly intelligent answers in why you don't think he'd make a good president, cuz as far as I can see...he is the best bet we have so far.
What do you think about the Republicans and Giuliani trying to rig the 2008 election? The Electoral College Vote It is the worst part of the Constitution, producing perverse results again and again. On four occasions there has been such a big gap between the national popular vote and the state-by-state electoral college votes that the guy with fewer real supporters in the country got to be President. It happened in 1824, 1876, 1888 and – most tragically for the world – in 2000. The Republicans want to change this – but in only one Democrat-leaning state. California has gone Democratic in presidential elections since 1988, and winning the sunny state is essential if the Democrats are going to retake the White House. So the Republicans have now begun a plan to break up California's electoral college votes – and award a huge chunk of them to their side. They have launched a campaign called California Counts, and they are trying to secure a state-wide referendum in June to implement their plan. They want California's electoral votes to be divvied up not on a big state-wide basis, but according to the much smaller congressional districts. The practical result? Instead of all the state's 54 electoral college votes going to the Democratic candidate, around 20 would go to the Republicans. If this was being done in every state, everywhere, it would be an improvement. California's forgotten Republicans would be represented in the electoral college, and so would Texas's forgotten Democrats. But by doing it in California alone, they are simply giving the Republicans a massive electoral gift. Suddenly it would be extremely hard for a Democrat ever to win the White House; they would need a landslide victory everywhere else to counter this vast structural imbalance against them on the West Coast. You can see this partisan agenda if you look at who is behind the campaign. It was set up by Charles "Chep" Hurth III – a Republican donor to Rudy Giuliani. It was drafted by Tom Hiltachk – a Republican attorney. Its signature drive was co-ordinated by Kevin Eckery – a Republican consultant. Its funds were provided by Paul Singer – a Republican billionaire and one of Rudy Giuliani's biggest donors. Its chief fundraiser is Anne Dunsmore – who went there straight from her post as national deputy campaign manager for Giuliani. Seeing a pattern yet? Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the republicans have taken to the street giving food to homeless people to get them to sign the referendum. Yes this story is a bit dated but I am reviving it because it seems that the republicans are close to getting enough signatures to pass this referendum. What Schwarzenegger vetoed along with his party was The Campaign for a National Popular Vote campaigning for every state simply to commit its delegates to the electoral college to vote 100 per cent for the candidate who wins the popular vote.
If Democrats win there will be another 911 but not if Rudy wins - this according to Rudy Giuliani ? Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001. But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped. See link - http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0407/3684.html Question- Is he spouting nothing but fear to get himself elected and if so how does that make you feel ?
President Giuliani 2008? I think Rudy’s strategy is heavily flawed - hoping to pick up momentum once we hit the more moderate states like Florida and California, where larger numbers of delegates are awarded to the national convention. (Since Florida violated RNC rules by moving its primary into January, it will loose half of its pledged delegates ot the national convention) By skipping Iowa and New Hampshire, he is ignoring the states where you meet the people one on one and get flung like a slingshot if you win. I think it will lose him the primaries. He came in with a terrible 4% support in Iowa, way behind the anti-war libertarian Ron Paul with 10%. Either McCain or Romney will win New Hampshire on Tuesday, and Rudy is unlikely to do very well in South Carolina where more Christian voters will go for Huckabee. No candidate in recent history has not done well in either Iowa or New Hampshire and won their party's nomination. What do you think?
