Would you like your daughter to marry John McCain? You can imagine a younger McCain if you wish.

So Do republicans hate themselves..Meghan McCain is a liberal? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meghan_McCain#cite_note-la_times-2 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/16/meghan-mccain-dines-out-w_n_112993.html She is usually in beverly hills spending money up his tush.. She Loves Obama
How will McCain explain what he said in front of millions of people in 2000? John McCain is sounding gung ho about being against abortion. Now I remember watching a debate among republicans running for prez in 2000, and there was this candidate Gary Bauer who is adamantly against all abortions. He looked at John McCain and said, "Suppose your daughter came to you and said she was pregnant and wanted an abortion. What would you do? McCain got a strange look on his face (I guess any father would). Then he said very determindedly like answering a challenge these exact words. "I would support my daughter." There's got to be a tape of it; it was broadcast nationally. Will the democrats use it during the presidential campaign once McCain is actually nominated--to try to show he's a hypocrite?
When the Bush campaign used push polling to suggest McCain had an illegitimate black child, was that unfair? Bush the first is claiming the current conservative criticisms of John McCain are unfair. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080218/pl_nm/usa_politics_mccain_dc Back in 2000 McCain was leading Bush the second in South Carolina and on his way to the GOP presidential nomination. Anonymous opponents used "push polling" to suggest that McCain's Bangladeshi born [adopted] daughter was his own, illegitimate black child. http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2004/03/21/the_anatomy_of_a_smear_campaign/ Speculation is that Bush's pet mudslinger, Karl Rove was behind this push polling. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove#2000_George_W._Bush_presidential_campaign_and_the_sale_of_Karl_Rove_.26_Co. Where was Bush the first with his claims of unfair criticisms of John McCain back in 2000?
If Rove says so... McCain is this true? (Thank You for being you, Karl)? Would you vote for someone who fathered an illegitimate black child ? from this source; >> http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/8/26/31853/5881 Bush's campaign strategists, including Karl Rove, devised a push poll against John McCain. South Carolina voters were asked "Would you be more likely or less likely to vote for John McCain for president if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?". They had no interest in the actual percentages in the poll, the goal was to suggest that [McCain had a black child]. This was particularly vicious since McCain was campaining with his adopted [dark skinned] Bangladeshi daughter ...and check more of Rove's handy work... http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=3906861&cl=6565578&ch=4227541&src=news Doesn't this give you a warm fuzzy feeling about "Conservative Principles"?
Considering the overall effect of the swift vote campaign . . .? the Harold Ford commercials which insinuated that if elected he would disgrace the office with a promiscuous inter-racial dating, and the campaign waged against John McCain stating that his adopted daughter was really the product of a bi-racial extramarital affair . . . Again, I ask, how will Obama counter claims that he is Islamic? Swift Voters is common lexicon for people who let these campaigns determine there vote knuckle head.
Is Americans getting the Real MCain? John Sidney McCain III entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland in 1954. Young McCain wanted to become an admiral. He planned to be the "first son and grandson of four star admirals" to achieve such a distinction. But that was not to be. McCain III possessed none of the innate character and discipline traits that helped mold his father and grandfather into great military leaders. His father, John S. "Junior" McCain, and grandfather, John S. McCain, Sr., were famous four-star Admirals in the U.S. Navy. His father commanded U.S. forces in Europe before becoming commander of American forces fighting in Vietnam. His grandfather commanded naval aviation at the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Both men became highly influential in U.S. Navy operations. At the Academy, aside being known as a "rowdy, raunchy, underachiever" who resented authority, Cadet McCain became infamous as a leader among his fellow midshipmen for organizing "off-Yard activities" and hard drinking parties. Robert Timberg wrote in his book, The Nightingale's Song, that "being on liberty with John McCain was like being in a train wreck." McCain's grades were "marginal." He drew so many demerits for breaking curfew and other discipline issues that he graduated fifth from the bottom of the class of 1958. Despite his low "class standing," and no doubt because of the influence of his family of famous Admirals, McCain was leap-frogged ahead of more qualified applicants and granted a coveted slot to be trained as a navy pilot. Good Party Animal - Bad Pilot: He spent the next two and a half years as a "naval aviator in training" at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida and Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas, flying A-1 Skyraiders. While a pilot trainee, McCain continued to party hard. He drove a Corvette and dated an exotic dancer named "Marie the Flame of Florida." Timberg wrote that McCain "learned to fly at Pensacola, though his performance was below par, at best good enough to get by. He liked flying, but didn't love it." McCain Lost Five Military Aircraft McCain, the "below par" pilot, eventually lost 5 military aircraft, the first during a training flight in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while trying to land. The Navy ignored the crash and graduated McCain in 1960. While deployed in the Mediterranean, the hard partying McCain lost a second aircraft. Timberg described the crash: "Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula, he took out some power lines which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral." Unscathed, McCain returned to Pensacola Station where he was promoted to flight instructor for Naval Air Station Meridian in Mississippi. The airfield at Meridian, McCain Field, was named in honor of McCain's grandfather. In 1964 McCain became involved with Carol Shepp, a model from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he had met at Annapolis. They were married in Philadelphia on July 3, 1965. Flight instructor McCain lost a third aircraft while flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg wrote that McCain radioed, "I've got a flameout" before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain parachuted onto a beach moments before his plane slammed into a clump of trees. The Navy dismissed the crash as "unavoidable" and assigned McCain to the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in December 1966, which was patrolling the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. In Spring 1967, the Forrestal was assigned to join the Operation Rolling Thunder bombing campaign against North Vietnam. McCain lost his fourth plane on board the Forrestal on July 29, 1967 when a rocket inadvertently slammed into his bomb laden jet. McCain escaped, but the explosions that followed killed 134 sailors. McCain was transferred from the badly damaged Forrestal to the USS Oriskany. Shortly afterwards, on Oct. 26, 1967, he was shot down and captured by the Vietnamese. Post-POW Years: Political Ambition and a New, Young, Rich Wife Upon his release from North Vietnam and return to the United States in 1973, McCain reunited with his wife, Carol, who had been permanently crippled in a car accident while he was a POW. Still yearning to become an admiral, McCain enrolled in the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. and underwent physical therapy in order to fly again. The Navy excused his permanent disabilities and reinstated him to flight status, effectively positioning him for promotion. Timberg described McCain's advancement: "in the fall of 1974, McCain was transferred to Jacksonville as the executive officer of Replacement Air Group 174, the long-sought flying billet at last a reality. A few months later, he assumed command of the RAG, which trained pilots and crews for carrier deployments. The assignment was controversial, some calling it favoritism, a sop to the famous son of a famous father and grandfather, since he had not first commanded a squadron, the usual career path." While Executive Officer and later as Squadron Commander McCain used his authority to arrange frequent flights that allowed him to carouse with subordinates and "engage in extra-marital affairs." This was a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice rules against adultery and fraternization with subordinates. But, as with all his other past behaviors, McCain was never penalized; instead he always got away with his transgressions. Timberg wrote, "Off duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John started carousing and running around with women. To make matters worse, some of the women with whom he was linked by rumor were subordinates . . . At the time the rumors were so widespread that, true or not, they became part of McCain's persona, impossible not to take note of." In early 1977, Admiral Jim Holloway, Chief of Naval Operations promoted McCain to captain and transferred him from his command position "to Washington as the number-two man in the Navy's Senate liaison office. McCain was promptly given total control of the office. It wasn't long before the "fun loving and irreverent" McCain had turned the liaison office into a "late-afternoon gathering spot where senators and staffers, usually from the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, would drop in for a drink and the chance to unwind." In 1979, while attending a military reception in Hawaii, McCain met and fell in love with Cindy Lou Hensley, 17 years his junior, who was the daughter of James W. Hensley, a wealthy Anheuser-Busch distributor from Phoenix, Arizona. McCain filed for and obtained an uncontested divorce from his wife in Florida on April 2, 1980 and promptly married Cindy on May 17, 1980. He resigned from the Navy in 1981 and went to work for his father-in-law in Phoenix; where he used the opportunity to make powerful and wealthy friends in Arizona including banker Charles Keating and Duke Tully, the editor-in-chief of the Arizona Republic. Keating was later convicted of fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy and Tully was disgraced for concocting a phony military record of combat in Korea and Vietnam including medals for heroism. McCain ran for Arizona's First Congressional District in 1982. McCain won the congressional seat. In 1987 McCain was elected to the US Senate. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1961665/posts
Questions about news things for January 28-feb 1? What candidate appears to be pulling out of the race after he was a distant third in Florida? Which Republican candidate do sources say he is now supporting? What speech did President Bush deliver to Congress Monday night? Why does Hillary keep proclaiming that McCain is better than Obama? is she...is she retarded? Even Harcore hillary fans can see the mistake here right? why does she have her daughter working for a hedge fund...John Edwards cannot be endorsing of this..or can he?
Does this reflect your own Christian values? The question assumes that you have Christian values. A US Army Field Manual revised last month bans "water boarding" as "cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment". Senior Republican lawmakers, human rights groups and many experts agree. Republican Senator, John Warner, John McCain and Lindsey Graham agree. Vice president Dick Cheney said in a interview that "the Bush administration doesn't regard water boarding as torture and allows the CIA to use it. It's a no brainer for me", Cheney said. It is the Bush administrations view that the president has the constitutional power to do whatever he deems necessary to fight terrorism." Cheney went on to say. Water boarding means holding a persons head under water or pouring water on a cloth or cellophane placed over the nose and mouth to simulate drowning until the subject agrees to talk or confess. Bush signed legislation last month that prohibits water boarding according to sponsors of the Military Commissions Act. Also if your Son or your Daughter were to fall into the Iraqi resistance hands would you agree with the use of water boarding to get your child to make a confession? jen, would you want your Son or Daughter subjected to this? ya kinda skipped that part. Nice dodge of the question. BTW, How would you know the person is in fact a terrorist? Do they have a number on them? some kind of mark?
Bridget McCain...black daughter of John McCain..why has she been put in the background? wait till the country finds out more bout her. Will republicans just stay home?
IF Democrats start using the same Tactics against McCain that Rove and Bush did in 2000? You think Republicans would cry foul? For example, the Bush campaign asked southern voters the following question in a poll: "Would you be more likely or less likely to vote for John McCain for president if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?" (McCain adopted a daughter from Africa)
Why do males in general not want to have a female as President of the USA? Polls show that the primary factor in the Obama/Clinton fight is the male vote. It comes down to this: Clinton is a woman and Obama is a man. There's a double standard. John McCain was asked how he would "beat the B-tch." Had the question been how he would "beat the black B-stard," McCain no doubt would have castigated the individual. And countless hours of air time on the media would have been devoted to the question. When Hillary Clinton appeared at a public meeting, someone yelled out "Iron my shirts!" The media and their spokepersons merely laughed it off. How differently they would have responded had someone yelled out at an Obama meeting, "Shine my shoes, Boy!" And of course, there has been the recent attack that Hillary has been "pimping" out her daughter Chelsea. Only 8 of the Fortune 500 CEOs are women, even though about half of the work force is female. There's a Queen of England, but the USA seems stuck in the 1950s mentality. Different opinions? Please do not attack the messenger. These polls were conducted by CNN and Time and were statistically validated. The same CNN and Time polls also showed that female voters were far more balanced in their voting between Obama and Clinton. I find it fascinating that my question has brought out the very hostility against women that I was seeking illumination about. So please refrain from making misogynistic comments or in a more "sophisticated vein" trying to take the tact that "I'm not against a woman for President--not just this woman," unless you have something specific vis-a-vis Obama's positions/actions you'd like to offer. Thanks in advance.
How do you react to the news item:Spouse vs. spouse: Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama go for the unconventional MCCLATCHY NEWSPAPERS Spouse vs. spouse: Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama go for the unconventional Posted on Fri, Feb. 01, 2008 BY MARGARET TALEV mtalev@mcclatchydc.com WASHINGTON -- In one corner, at 6-foot-2, with the bulbous nose, the silver hair, the global resume and the I-feel-your-pain grin: former President Bill Clinton. In the other, at 5-foot-11, as formidable and corporate as Hillary Clinton was in 1992 but more content and with a style and take on motherhood that's Clair Huxtable-meets-Jackie Kennedy: Michelle Obama. With the contest between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination threatening to drag on past Super Tuesday on Feb. 5, voters outside Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina may get to see how these unconventional candidate-spouses operate. Bill Clinton needs no introduction, but Michelle Obama remains an unknown to many Americans, especially in the West. ''I'm embarrassed to say I don't know as much about her,'' said Jon Krosnick, a Stanford University professor who specializes in political psychology and has been observing how the Clintons campaign together. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are far more involved, at least publicly, than are the wives of the two Republican front-runners, John McCain and Mitt Romney. Each is putting in heavy rotations on the surrogate campaign trail, although Obama still tries to be home evenings and weekends with the couple's two young daughters. Both spouses have mostly been assets for their respective campaigns, but if the lead-up to the Jan. 26 South Carolina primary was any indication, Mrs. Obama and Mr. Clinton may yet draw blood. Months ago, Obama made what some read as a personal dig at Hillary Clinton, saying, ''If you can't run your own house, you can't run the White House.'' Then, when Clinton stepped up his attacks on behalf of his wife and tried to put Barack Obama in the Jesse Jackson-black candidate box, Obama charged before the TV cameras to say that, ``When power is confronted with real change, it will say anything.'' So far, Clinton has taken more media criticism -- for his attempt to suggest that he never supported the Iraq war, for hogging so much of the spotlight that Barack Obama wondered aloud whom he was running against and for playing racial politics to limit the damage of his wife's landslide loss in South Carolina, the first Southern state to vote. Obama has gotten an easier ride. Her connection with black women may have helped turn out voters who once had been torn between her husband and Hillary Clinton. But some of Obama's edgier comments could have exploded into controversy if she'd rolled them out before different audiences, say, during a general election campaign aimed at attracting swing voters. Hillary Clinton was asked about her husband's role at the Thursday night Democratic debate in California. ''He [Obama] has a spouse, too,'' she replied. ''Thankfully Michelle is not on stage,'' Barack Obama interjected. ``I'm sure she could tell some stories as well.'' Clinton summed it up: ``Well, one thing I think is fair to say: Both Barack and I have very passionate spouses. . . .'' ''We do, no doubt,'' Obama said. ''. . . who promote and defend us at every turn. . . . But the fact is that I'm running for president, and this is my campaign,'' Clinton declared, to applause. Michelle Obama's frustration at the personal and career sacrifices she's making for her husband is palpable, even though she says she's willing to give up something for the opportunity to leave a mark on history. And her calculation to put her husband in his place at times, talking publicly about his sloppiness or how their daughters find him too stinky in the morning, isn't something you'd expect from, say, Lady Bird Johnson or Laura Bush. Krosnick said that Bill Clinton and Obama reflect ``an increasing trend toward spouses being involved in campaigns. I think it's a reflection of the women's movement. Women are running major corporations now. It's something that is just a fact of life, so the idea that smart effective politicians would be married to smart, effective professionals who don't just sit quietly at home, that's going to be normal.'' Both trained as lawyers, Clinton and Obama are verbally adept, with the ability to scathe, uplift or empathize on and off-script. But either spouse could become a liability, Krosnick said, especially in the general election -- Clinton because of how much Republicans revile him and Obama because she's unpredictable and doesn't have much experience in the national spotlight. ''As this thing goes on, every single word becomes vital,'' Krosnick said. Carl Sferrazza Anthony, a biographer of first ladies and historian for the National First Ladies' Library in Canton, Ohio, said that Clinton and Obama both are ''pivotal'' figures in their spouses' campaigns. But he sees them as fundamentally different. Anthony considers Obama a grounding force for her husband. Growing up in a working-class black Chicago neighborhood, her experience as an African American is more typical than Barack Obama's biracial childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia. Her ascendancy to Harvard Law School and the business world, as a hospital executive, arguably is more hard-won. While her biography may be atypical for a candidate's spouse, her style on the trail isn't unprecedented. Anthony sees strains of Florence Harding, who brought her experiences as a divorcee and businesswoman to the trail in advocating her husband's understanding of women's challenges in 1920. Anthony also sees strains of Jackie Kennedy and Hillary Clinton in Obama. Clinton's experience as a past president and his political acumen are unprecedented in a candidate's spouse, Anthony said. In contrast, he said, Obama seems interested in public policy, but ``I don't think she has a natural instinctive interest in the art of politics at all. I don't think she has been politically ambitious.'' A Pew poll last October found that Clinton's presence could cut both ways in his wife's campaign. Asked whether his influence on a Hillary Clinton presidency would be a positive or a negative, most people considered him a plus, 64 percent to 19 percent. But asked whether they liked the idea of Clinton being back in the White House, Americans had a more divided reaction, with 45 percent saying they liked the idea and 33 percent disliking it. How would America receive a first lady Michelle Obama? Pollsters say they don't know. Neither national polling groups nor Illinois organizations have been asking, and Obama's own aides say they're not aware of any data on her favorability. After Super Tuesday, however, if Barack Obama's ahead, you can be sure such polls will emerge.
Will John McCain bring back the draft? If you have a young son — or daughter — in your family, or are a young person yourself, the last person you should support is John McCain. He would bring back the draft to provide cannon fodder for all the wars he and his Neocon advisers are dreaming up. His own Website promises: The global war on terrorism, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, threats from rogue states like Iran and North Korea, and the rise of potential strategic competitors like China and Russia mean that America requires a larger and more capable military to protect our country’s vital interests and deter challenges to our security…. As President, John McCain will strengthen the military, shore up our alliances, and ensure that the nation is capable of protecting the homeland, deterring potential military challenges, responding to any crisis that endangers American security, and prevailing in any conflict we are forced to fight… He knows that to protect our homeland, our interests, and our values - and to keep the peace - America must have the best-manned, best-equipped, and best-supported military in the world. How will John McCain support this best-equipped, best-supported, best-manned military without drafting new soldiers to replace the ones that have already perished due to this phony war? Recruitment, even now, is way below the military’s needs. The U.S. Army, which bears the brunt of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, has nearly tripled the number of high school dropouts recruited from 10% of the force to 29%. This is significant because a modern military is run on complex commands, missions, and equipment. Dumbing down the force means more accidents, casualties, and failed missions. dlk: touche'
Media and People have gone too far? Why should she quit when 10 million people have voted for her? Senator Clinton is the only candidate that I have heard say she would work without pay as president AND that she would throw out all of the special presidential privileges that President Bush has given himself. It's amazing to me that after all the crude, ribald jokes and name calling, Obama supporters are calling for Clinton supporters to join them. I have never seen so many insults hurled at one person who is trying to help us help ourselves. "Carl Bernstein's disgust at Hillary’s “thick ankles.” Nixon-trickster Roger Stone’s new Hillary-hating 527 group, “Citizens United Not Timid” (check the capital letters). John McCain answering “How do we beat the bitch?" with “Excellent question!” Would he have dared reply similarly to “How do we beat the black b*stard?” For shame. Then there's the HRC nutcracker with metal spikes between splayed thighs. If it was a tap-dancing blackface doll, we would be righteously outraged—and they would not be selling it in airports. Shame. And the most intimately violent T-shirts in election history, including one with the murderous slogan “If Only Hillary had married O.J. Instead!” Shame. What about Comedy Central’s “Southpark” featuring a storyline in which terrorists secrete a bomb in HRC’s v*gina. I refuse to wrench my brain down into the gutter far enough to find a race-based comparison. For shame. Goodbye to the sick, malicious idea that this is funny. This is not “Clinton hating,” not “Hillary hating.” This is sociopathic woman-hating. If it were about Jews, we would recognize it instantly as anti-Semitic propaganda; if about race, as KKK poison. PETA would go ballistic if such vomitous spew were directed at animals. Where is our sense of outrage—as citizens, voters, Americans?" Robin Morgan Things like this revolve around supporting Obama, its very sick to think people could support someone who surrounds so much women hating tactics, especially a man with 2 young daughters, you would think he would be standing up and saying HEY lets cool it with bashing someone over gender, but he hasnt. Although Hillary has made several comments to stop the race slandering towards Obama.
Democrats are prepared to unite around Obama or Clinton. Do you agree? Either one will strongly defeat John McCain in the general election. The Republicans caused the War. The Democrats are ready to clean up this huge mistake and bring our troops home where they belong. We cannnot afford to pay trillions of dollars on this endless war and plunge our economy into a state of no return. Our sons and daughters well into the next generation will be given the invoice to pay for this war for years to come.
Do you believe that Donna Brazil, Dem Op,John Williams,Cong,GA& Black l leaders were not endorsing Obummer? Thi is turning to be a political race based on race for the most part. Amy Holmes, A Republican talk head on CNN defends Obummer and shows her bias nightly on CNN. I would think she should defened Mccain. The nation has to come together after this Neo Con dissaster. If Mr Obama were to win the election, G-d forbid, it ts difficult to imagine a united United States. Mr. Mccain and his praise of the Bush dissaster and his wanting our troops to remain in Iraq until hell freezes over is not what the American people say they wan't. If the Iraquis can't rule with law an order its there problem. Why should our sons and daughters die? If we are an empire let us draft our forces from the general population. Since we outsource our dollars to China for contaminated goods that benefit multinationals we should insource our military like the Roman Empire, but that caused thier demise..remember?
John Mccain OTHER daughter? Everyone calls her black, which I will say she isnt. What I wanna know is why would America vote for a president that is too ashamed to even have his child by his side?????? If he isn't loyal to his family, how the hell will he be loyal to us???? To MBSCH and anyone else who would like to use that, barack's kids have been on campaign, as well as you can type that into ANY search engine and find them, not the same for Mccain, and who cares what the hell his middle name is.
Did you know how Bush fought dirty and racist with smear and lies in 2000? It didn't take much research to turn up a seemingly innocuous fact about the McCains: John and his wife, Cindy, have an adopted daughter named Bridget. Cindy found Bridget at Mother Theresa's orphanage in Bangladesh, brought her to the United States for medical treatment, and the family ultimately adopted her. Bridget has dark skin. Anonymous opponents used "push polling" to suggest that McCain's Bangladeshi born daughter was his own, illegitimate black child. In push polling, a voter gets a call, ostensibly from a polling company, asking which candidate the voter supports. In this case, if the "pollster" determined that the person was a McCain supporter, he made statements designed to create doubt about the senator. Every presidential campaign has its share of hard-ball political tactics, but nothing is more discomforting than a smear campaign. The deeply personal, usually anonymous allegations that make up a smear campaign are aimed at a candidate's most precious asset: his reputation. The reason this blackest of the dark arts is likely to continue is simple: It often works. The premise of any smear campaign rests on a central truth of politics: Most of us will vote for a candidate we like and respect, even if we don't agree with him on every issue. But if you can cripple a voter's basic trust in a candidate, you can probably turn his vote. The idea is to find some piece of personal information that is tawdry enough to raise doubts, repelling a candidate's natural supporters. All campaigns do extensive research into their opponent's voting record and personal life. This so-called "oppo research" involves searching databases, combing through press clips, and asking questions of people who know ( Some aspects of this smear were hardly so subtle. Bob Jones University professor Richard Hand sent an e-mail to "fellow South Carolinians" stating that McCain had "chosen to sire children without marriage." It didn't take long for mainstream media to carry the charge. CNN interviewed Hand and put him on the spot: "Professor, you say that this man had children out of wedlock. He did not have children out of wedlock." Hand replied, "Wait a minute, that's a universal negative. Can you prove that there aren't any?"
Do you know John McCain voted NO fr equal pay for WOMEN?!? NEW ORLEANS — Republican Sen. John McCain, campaigning through poverty-stricken cities and towns, said Wednesday he opposes a Senate bill that seeks equal pay for women because it would lead to more lawsuits. Senate Republicans killed the bill Wednesday night on a 56-42 vote that denied the measure the 60 votes needed to advance it to full debate and a vote. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., had delayed the vote to give McCain's Democratic rivals, Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, time to return to Washington to support the measure, which would make it easier for women to sue their employers for pay discrimination. McCain skipped the vote to campaign in New Orleans. "I am all in favor of pay equity for women, but this kind of legislation, as is typical of what's being proposed by my friends on the other side of the aisle, opens us up to lawsuits for all kinds of problems," the expected GOP presidential nominee told reporters. "This is government playing a much, much greater role in the business of a private enterprise system." The bill sought to counteract a Supreme Court decision limiting how long workers can wait before suing for pay discrimination. It is named for Lilly Ledbetter, a supervisor at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s plant in Gadsden, Ala., who sued for pay discrimination just before retiring after a 19-year career there. By the time she retired, Ledbetter made $6,500 less than the lowest-paid male supervisor and claimed earlier decisions by supervisors kept her from making more. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 last year to throw out her complaint, saying she had waited too long to sue. Democrats criticized McCain for opposing the bill. "Senator McCain has yet again fallen in line with President Bush while middle-class families are falling by the wayside," Clinton said in a statement following the vote. "Women are earning less, but Senator McCain is offering more of the same." Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Karen Finney said: "At a time when American families are struggling to keep their homes and jobs while paying more for everything from gasoline to groceries, how on Earth would anyone who thinks they can lead our country also think it's acceptable to oppose equal pay for America's mothers, wives and daughters?" McCain stated his opposition to the bill as he campaigned in rural eastern Kentucky, where poverty is worse among women than men. The Arizona senator said he was familiar with the disparity but that there are better ways to help women find better paying jobs. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/23/mccain-opposes-equal-pay-_n_98342.html

Is Bridget McCain upset that Papa John is in bed with Rove & Co. after the 2000 S.C. Primary smears? During the 2000 primary in South Carolina, Bush, Rove & friends ran a phone polling program calling voters and asking them, "if McCain had an illegitimate black daughter would that affect their vote?" This was an attack against John and Cindy's adopted daughter Bridget who is Indian (I believe). McCain was leading in S.C. at the time, but lost badly after these smears. Is Bridget crushed now that her dad is employing these same thugs in the campaign against Obama? Personally, I could never betray my children this way. Attacking my kids is unforgivable.
Do you see the sexism toward our woman candidate & are you comfortable with it? -They refer to her by her 1st name. No one refers to Barack or John or Mike, etc. -If she shows emotion (sad/happy/mad, whatever) it is negative headline news. When Obama is mad, Bush cries or McCain is victorious they are driven, sensitive &justifiably pleased. -Because she is seeking leadership of our nation, she is alternately portrayed as power hungry, only doing it to get her husband back in, or pursuing the presidency for devious reasons like lining her pocket book. Obama, McClain & male candidates are perceived as running for office because of a life long need to fulfill civic responsibility & public service. -If Hillary defends her daughter, she is being hysterical & unreasonable. If Obama defended his girls, he would, no doubt, be considered a doting papa....to be admired. A recent post noted that crowds jeering, "shine my shoes boy" to Obama would be, justifiably, treated w/ outrage. Why is no one outraged by "iron my shirts" jeering? *ADDED: Anyone answering this, please check out Rinney11's response...better hurry, I reported it....It is a great example of what I'm writing about ;) ADDED: Rinney's been taken out, but try RayN-is I reported him too - but another great example.....enjoy. ADDED: It is amazing that RayN hasn't been deleted yet....Charlie is more classy (no crass language or implication) but he helps to illustrate the point just as well....

John mccain wants a draft..... 100 years of war=draft? that means your son and daughter.. more dead soldiers...100 years of war means a draft. you cant have a 100 year war without a draft

Is John McCain in Wedding Crashers? I was watching that movie this morning, and I swear I saw him in that one scene where Christopher Walkin is shaking hands before his daughter gets married. Ha! I knew it. I'm a genius!
Can duel-citizens become president of the USA? And is McCain a duel-citizen? I know that foreign born people can't be president of the U.S. for some reason, so I was wondering how that affected duel-citizens who were born here, but for some reason took a second citizenship elsewhere since it seems like a related concept. I heard in a couple of recent news stories that John McCain adopted a daughter from Bangladesh in the early 1990s. I think that foreign adoption is a great thing to do, particularly from a poor country like Bangladesh, the problem is that accoriding to the U.S. Department of State website it is illegal in Bangladesh to adopt children unless the adoptive parents are Bangladeshi. The only way that an American can adopt from Bangladesh according to this U.S. government website, is if they are duel citizens with Bangladesh. Please keep reading in the additional details, they are important! This means that since McCain adopted from Bangladesh, one of three scenarios took place: 1.) McCain has duel citizenship and is also a Bangladeshi citizen which could affect his impartiality as president seems like it could affect his eligibilty towards being a president at all. 2.) McCain illegally adopted his daughter from Bangladesh, making him an international kidnapper. 3.) There were radically different laws in Bangladesh in the early 1990s when the adoption happened. The information about adoptions in Bangladesh was obtained from the following website: http://travel.state.gov/family/adoption/country/country_334.html Here is a relevant quote from the website: "Prospective guardians must be at least 18 years old being of sound mind and capable of maintaining through provision of food, shelter and education and provide proof of Bangladeshi citizenship." Here is a quote from an article written by the Associated Press that mentions McCain's Bangladesh adoption: "The senator's older three children — two sons of his first wife, Douglas and Andrew, whom he adopted, and a daughter they had together, Sidney — are in their 40s. With Cindy McCain, he has Meghan, Jack, Jimmy, and their youngest, Bridget, adopted from Bangladesh as an infant. She told a young reporter for Scholastic News in December that her favorite subject at her private school in Phoenix is history, and that she loves playing sports." It is from this website: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hGdXd7x9VJAsT6S_gVdbqZeA50IQD91PA9H03 After reviewing all this information, please let me know what you think of McCain's potential Bangladeshi citizenship and also whether or not duel-citizens are eligble for the American presidency. I've been thinking about this a lot over the past few days and just want to find an answer to my questions. Thanks in advance! While it may be discouraged for Americans to get citizenship from additional countries, there are many people in the United States who have dual citizenship. An example of this is found whenever a child is born who has parents from different countries. The child often receives dual citizenship. I know several people who fit this description. They are dual American and Canadian citizens. One of my professors in college was American but married a Czech woman, so his children are both American and Czech citizens. This happens all the time and people can also opt to become dual citizens without family ties to a given country (although in the U.S. this is much harder to accomplish. I know McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which counts as American soil because of its status at the time; that is, however, a different issue. My question concerns the fact that he adopted a child from a country that only allows its own citizens to adopt. That strikes me as odd and sent up red flags when I first read it. Please read my question and then respond to that part and don't drag unrelated material into this discussion.
Good debate question for John McCain...? Senator McCain: You are both pro-life and pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants. Would your position on either of these issues be changed if one of your daughters was gang-raped and impregnated by illegal immigrants? If so, how? If not, why not? To answer a question from one of the people who responded: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51424 Schurman-Kauflin, who runs the Violent Crimes Institute in Atlanta, participated in a 12-month, in-depth study of illegal immigrants who committed sex crimes and murders from January 1999 through April 2006. The study found approximately 240,000 illegal-immigrant sex offenders reside in the United States – while 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sexual offenders come across U.S. borders illegally every day. Schurman-Kauflin said, "Gang rapes by illegal immigrants appear to be gang related. Many of the cases I reviewed involved gang members. As part of being a cohesive group, they offend together. Inflicting brutal gang rapes brings them closer together as a group. It is a way to demonstrate their power. And it sends a message to anyone who dares to cross them."
A rumor that John McCain has a biracial/black daughter. Tell me what you think? If this is true, is he ashamed of his daughter's African American heritage?
What are your thoughts about raising young children in the White House? I know it's been done, but what about it? Is it more difficult now than ever before to be a parent engaged in the lives of your young children while you are the President? Obama has two daughters and although John McCain has two older sons serving in the military, he has a younger adopted daughter as well.
McCain is a liar. He met Cunningham twice in his life. Why would you vote for a liar? It is a provable fact that McCain has met Cunningham twice in his life and talked at length. One of those times in front of another Senator as a witness. How can you back a liar like John McCain who oozes out lies without even thinking twice. McCain flaunts his white daughter around everywhere, where is his adopted daughter from Bangledesh. I am sick of McCain. McCain will not win the General Election. He is attacking Conservatives more than Hillary or Barrack.
Why are people now accusing John McCain of being racist? Someone just posted a question asking if McCain use to be in the KKK. I thought we should nip this in the bud. John McCain has a Black daughter… Cindy led 55 medical missions to third world and war-torn countries during AVMT's seven years of existence. On one of those missions, Mother Teresa convinced Cindy to take two babies in need of medical attention to the United States. One of those babies is now their black adopted daughter, 16-year-old Bridget McCain. This was not done to win the election. They adopted their daughter, way before Angelina Jolie made adopting a child from a third word country popular. So, your saying he is still a racist because she was born in Bangladesh and not Africa. Most of the websites have identified her as being black. Here is a family portrait with Bridget… http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3F_adv_prop%3Dimage%26fr%3Dslv8-%26va%3Dbridget%2Bmccain%26sz%3Dall&w=200&h=241&imgurl=static.flickr.com%2F2290%2F2181606738_859f13fcf4.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flickr.com%2Fphotos%2Fmilkyr_chobi%2F2181606738%2F&size=25.1kB&name=Sen%20McCain%20with%20family&p=&type=JPG&oid=fa455db10dde6b48&fusr=tovarish_udn&tit=Sen%20McCain%20with%20family&hurl=http://www.flickr.com/photos/milkyr_chobi/&no=1&tt=7
Is the "JACK BAUER" character is really based on Senator John McCain? I didn't believe this, but did you see his daughter? She is the identical twin of Elisha Cutbert?
Did John McCain ever repay Charles Keating? Did John McCain ever repay Charles Keating for the trips aboard his private jet to his estate in the Bahamas that McCain, His wife Cindy, his daughter, and her babysitter took, before he interfered with the federal investigation of his fraudulent Lincoln Savings and Loan? Any question about this scandal are easily researched by searching on the keating 5. One way McCain avoided consequences was to promise he would repay the bribes he took.
John McCain jokes? John McCain's daughter says that a lot of guys don't want to date her because her dad makes her too high-profile. Yeah. That's part of the reason. It's also because McCain's daughter is 63 years old. Did you hear about this? Two State Department employees were fired -- this is a bit of a scandal -- because they were looking at Barack Obama's passport file. Not only that, but the same person was also looking at John McCain's Civil War records. John McCain has many military honors, including purple hearts from Vietnam, World War II, and the French Revolution. John McCain jokes are getting old...right now the only thing older than John McCain jokes is John McCain.
How do Democrats feel about their media ruining a John McCains daughters life? http://www.yahoo.com/s/1038165 Ever since the liberal media was so vicious to Sarah Palin and John McCain, John's daughter cant get a date anymore, due to the left wing media, fact. I cant believe how mean and nasty they are, to ruin a young girls life. Sad really.
