Why President John McCain and Vice President Mitt Romney would be the winning ticket for the USA in 2008? The President of the United States is the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces (John McCain fits the position best). The Vice President of the United States handles more Economic issues (Mitt Romney fits the position best). Obama has no history of either of these positions or much of any successful past at all Clinton is everything the opposite of these positions and wants everything to be a socialist economy and has no armed forces experience. Democrats have no qualified candidates right now for the Presidential seats.
How will America be in the next 4 years when John McCain is President? Can you imagine John McCain being President now? Is John McCain fit to be President and Commander in Chief of the military? For years, the mainstream news media has refused to stop idolizing the so-called straight talking maverick John McCain long enough to question the mental health consequences of the years he spent as a "special" prisoner of the communists in North Vietnam. What would Iraq look like today if the President listened to John McCain from the onset of the war? The fundamental idea of removing Saddam was an excellent idea. As John McCain said from the beginning of the war,"You have got to dedicate more troops to secure the country after-wards Mr. President." All along he has been saying this. Hence three tyrannical regimes are being removed with the least amount of American lives lost. This is a question that was previously deleted and the reason given was that it was neither a question or an answer. Several people suggested I repost it, so this is why it is back up. Quite correctly, this is not an answer. It is, however, a question. When it was previously posted, some of those who answered opined that John McCain could not win the Presidency. I disagree, but that is irrelevant. And that is not the question. The question is, how much forgiveness is appropriate, given the circumstances of McCain's captivity? Or is any forgiveness appropriate? This is to the suggestion I do some research. I am a Vietnam veteran, and I served as a family escort in 1973 during the repatriation of Vietnam POWs. I count several Vietnam former POWs as friends, although I am not personally acquainted with John McCain. I can and have forgiven the former North Vietnamese. Except for one thing. The way they treated their own people. Some of those were also friends of mine. As to the question of McCain's electability, he can be elected. That doesn't mean he will be, and I will concede that it's possible he shouldn't be. But every candidate has some weakness and McCain's strengths could very well propel him against those weaknesses. He was against lobbyist in Washington and wanted to limit the amount of contributions they could make to politicians. Ofcourse the far right brought out the big money guns (lobbyist) and inundated the airwaves with Bush ads in the following states. McCain didn't have the money to keep up and fell close behind GWB then swept the rest of the primaries. I believe McCain could have really kept us united as a nation and the dueling parties could have been united far longer in the way they were shortly after 9/11. Gore would have lost in a landslide. Bush was too far right and that is why the election was so close....McCain would have stolen Democratic votes at an alarming rate. People were quite tired of the Clinton regime at that time if you don't recall.

They found him "not substantially involved" but slaped his hand for "questionable conduct." Is John McCain still mentally capable of being president? I've been noticing a lot lately that McCain has been mixing up things in his speeches (Yahoo! currently has a story in which he mixed up Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, there are other examples as well). I had originally passed this off as nervousness, but he has been doing it more and more. He has said we are at war with Iran, we've lost the war in Iraq (which I consider bad but certainly not over), etc. He is beginning to shake a lot, too. I definitely still see a very intelligent and caring individual in John McCain, and he does seem honest and truthful as well (I think the only politician I've ever seen pull off that look). But I'm beginning to wonder whether the age has caught up with him and that he may no longer be mentally capable of handling the stress and complicated matters that come with being president. I'm wondering who thinks my suspicions may be correct, and who does not. And why?
