Would you support John Edwards for President? Edwards is the only candidate in 2004 that really seemed to have an idea about how Americans really live, and what they need. He was the only one who acknowledged we have poverty in America, and has continued to work since the election to make eradication of abject poverty his primary work. In a little publicized poll a couple months back in Iowa, Iowa democrats picked Edwards as their choice for the candidate in 2008, over both Hillary Clinton and their own Governor. Would you support Edwards, a more moderate democrat, that really does have honest passion for helping Americans?

I admire his courage despite her cancer diagnosis to stay in the race for the presidency, but do you feel he may be using it to "pull at the heartstrings" of the American public to hopefully insure a presidential nod? If elected president, what is John Edwards going to do after he removes all the troops fro Iraq? During the Democratic debate in New Hampshire yesterday, John Edwards was emphatic about removing the troops from Iraq ASAP. That indicates that Iraq and possibly the whole Middle East could be under the control of Iran or other Islamic Jihadist countries. Was he advocating that the US become an isolationist country? And that he would not lift a finger if the entire Middle East turns hostile towards the US and our foreign interest. And what if Iran attakcs Israel, or if Israel does a pre-empted strike agains Iran? Will he play like FDR during early on in WWII Europe? I'm all for bringing the troops home but isn't Edwards intention careless and dangerous?

Will John Edwards make a good president? He made a fortune suing folks and just built a milti-million dollar mansion in North Carolina. Also when he was our senator, he had a terrible record on attendance while in Washington for his term.

What do you think of John Edwards becoming president? I saw him a few nights ago doing that mtv/myspace thing on tv. I thought he was pretty cool. I think I like him. But then again, aren't politicians pretty much trained to make you like them during election? Anyway, why do you like him? Why don't you? Can we all agree on John Edwards for Vice President? Votes for John Edwards to be Vice President in 2008 elections, will work to help the next president of the United States clean up, to restore Peace among the U.S and foreign nations, his views on the war in Iraq and most candidates are alike in terms of withdrawal, and funding which is draining! not only in money! but in energy also. when you Fund, you pay for something, that will be a benefit to others, so far nothing is happening in terms of democracy, or election of government for Iraq. The fight is about tribal rein, and islamic laws! whose emphasis is on terrorism to defend their ilslamic cause. It is unrealistic to run a country solely on a prophet's ideology. An illusion will not form a government. A Prime Minister will, and of any tribe. After all it's all Islam! if the Military got out of Iraq somebody has to rule, and the fight continues.

Will John Edwards be our next president? We know the repubs have blown it. Redneck America will never stand behind Mrs. C or Mr. Obama. But John Edwards has all four bases covered. He's male He's white He's protestant He talks like Huckleberry Hound. Looks like he's a natural, to me.

Is John Edwards the default choice for President? Is Edwards flying under the radar? I mean Huckabee is too religious, Hillary causes an uproar because she is a woman and status quo, and people can't seem to accept Obama because they think he is Muslim. BTW, I support Obama, but I think many people aren't willing to accept Obama or accept Hillary. Also you can't go by the results in Iowa or N.H Remember Bush lost both states' cacuses and won the nomination.
John Edwards should be the next President of the United States of America because...? I am looking for legitimate reason why John Edwards is more qualified to be President than any other candidate. Please do not bash John Edwards or promote another candidate on this thread as I will be asking about some other candidates as well. Also, please note that none of the candidates are George W. Bush and half of Americans are Democrats. Therefore, the arguments that a) "At least he's not Bush." and b) at least he's not a Republican." are not valid qualifications as those qualities are shared by my cousin, and I wouldn't trust him to run a lemonade stand. Specifically, I am looking for 1) a voting record that shows consistency in what he supports. 2) evedence of good moral character 3) historical evidence that his ideas are good for the economy (ie. when Xyz raised taxes, unemployment droped by X%) 4) Evidence that he will stand by his convictions even if they are unpopular 5) In what way is he superior to the other candidates of his party? Please think of this kind of as finishing the sentence, "I will be voting for Hillary because..." Some of you may like to imagine this as a creative writing assignment.

Should John Edwards keep running for President? Okay, normally I post pretty conservative stuff here. I will admit I'm no fan of the guy but this is different. When someones life is on the line, politics don't matter. I lost a dear friend last year to EXACTLY the same type of cancer. It started in her breast and spread to her ribs and hip and eventually took her life. This is incurable...he isn't going to win anyway so why not spend all his time with his wife and family. Every day is a gift...especially for these folks. He has a ton of money...spend it creating memories with the family.

I really liked his personality along with his ways of dealing with current issues such as health care, the war in Iraq and overall change for the U.S. What are some reasons you think he would or would not be a good president of the United States? When he spoke, he did not have a prepared speech. He spoke what was on his mind and heart.

Is John Edwards Morally Deficient to be President? Think about how Mr Edwards "earned" his $50 Million fortune. No, he did absolutely nothing illegal, but what he did do was make his fortune, as a trial lawyer, based on an unsubstantiated medical claim. In fact, it was later proven to scientifically false. Of course, this won awards for his clients, and I'm sure they were very satisfied with his services, but it came a the cost of good doctors reputations, etc. I'm also sure that it contributed to the rising cost of malpractice insurance. Now, to the best of my knowledge, Mr.Edwards has made no attempt to return any of the money that he received for his services to any of these doctors who were wrongly sued (after it was determined to have been scientifically false). But why does this make him morally deficient to be President? Can we afford to grant someone with such authority who is willing to charge forward without sufficient evidence or proof on a decision that could have grave consequences? I think not.
