Why is that Mitt Romney--who is running for president and using anti-illegal immigration as a main platform--hired illegal aliens to work in his mansion? Is it true Mitt Romney ran a sanctuary mansion for illegals? I'm 18, never voted before, and I am a biology major so I don't know much about politics, but I heard that Mitt Romney (GOP candidate for president), hired illegal aliens to mow his grass. Why President John McCain and Vice President Mitt Romney would be the winning ticket for the USA in 2008? The President of the United States is the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces (John McCain fits the position best). The Vice President of the United States handles more Economic issues (Mitt Romney fits the position best). Obama has no history of either of these positions or much of any successful past at all Clinton is everything the opposite of these positions and wants everything to be a socialist economy and has no armed forces experience. I'm working from the confession of the only man convicted and executed for the deed, a man named Lee. According to him, the massacre order was issued by Brigham Young himself. All participants were to "do your duty" or burn in hell everafter. Since they considered Young to be in direct communication with God, they felt they had no choice but to comply. It appears Lee was offered up as a scapegoat to protect the order givers and help put the whole ugly mess to rest. LDS has been eerily silent on the matter since. Do they still feel their prophet is in direct communication with God and therefore must be obeyed without question? If so, I'd have grave reservations about having a Mormon as president. However, let me say that ANYONE would be an improvement over the current occupant of the White House now.

For Christians that judge Mitt Romney inappropriate, or incapable, as a president of the USA because he’s Mormon: What are your reasons for not voting for him? Over 30% of the USA says they either wouldn’t vote for or have reservations about voting for Mitt Romney because he’s Mormon. It’s well known that a large percentage of those people are conservative Christians, especially in the Bible belt. If you are not American but you would still not vote for Mitt Romney, if you had the chance, because you judge his religion to make him incapable of being a good world leader, I’m fine with you answering too. What is it that you believe about Mormons that cause you to judge Romney incapable of leading the nation based on his Mormon beliefs? ( im in so cal and its a big problem) his stance is to take care of america, and americans first and fore most- then we can start worrying about others. isn't that what we want in an AMERICAN president? to look out for americans? why not look into his actual "flip flopping" instead of reguretating whatever you heard in the media? the only thing he genuinley flipped on was abortion- and he fully admitts it. he changed his mind after he saw that embryos were being created and destroyed at the mercy of science. and he changed his view while in office in dem. state mass. but didn't try to change laws because the people of mass. didn't want the laws changed. he respected the people of his state. besides, abortion isn't a pres. issue, it's a state issue, and romney vowed that he would keep it that way. that the country wouldn't be ran by his personal views, but by what the majority of americans want and VOTE for.
Can you believe Mitt Romney is battling Mike Huckabee for 2nd place in Washington state!? I know it's early (only 38% reporting), but Mitt Romney who is not even in the race anymore is in a dead heat at 21% with Mike Huckabee. Doesn't this mean McCain needs to give Mitt and his supporters a little more respect and perhaps serious consideration to Romney in a VP slot? I am so impressed by those continuing to support Mitt. It shows they are inspired, passionate, and have conviction! At 100% reporting, the final was Mitt 18% and Huck 22%. Not bad for someone who isn't in the race. I think this is great for Washington state!

Now that Romney is running for the Republican Party ticket for president, in order to appease the general platform of his party, Romney is anti-abortion and anti-gay right to marriage. Which set of beliefs does Romney actually adhere to; do you believe he changed his stance to merely to win the Republican Party ticket for president? Will Romney's actions if elected president contradict his new platform, as Arnold Schwartzenegger has changed since he has been in office?

Mitt Ronald Reagan Romney seems to think that if he simply says "Ronald Reagan this, and Ronald Reagan that", that voters will pretend that HE is Ronald Reagan? In interviews with any news channel they say to Mitt: "Gov. Romney, what is your position on foreign policy?". Romney responds by saying "Well, Ronald Reagan used to say this and that, and Ronald Reagan did that, and Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan." Does he think that if he says Ronald Reagan 50 million times that we will think that Romney IS Ronald Reagan?

Please do not bash Mitt Romney or promote another candidate on this thread as I will be asking about some other candidates as well. Also, please note that there is only one Hillary Clinton and half of Americans are Republicans. Therefore, the arguments that a) "At least he's not Clinton." and b) at least he's not a Democrat." are not valid qualifications as those qualities are shared by my aunt, and I wouldn't trust her to run a lemonade stand. Specifically, I am looking for 1) a voting record that shows consistency in what he supports. 2) evedence of good moral character 3) historical evidence that his ideas are good for the economy (ie. when Xyz lowered taxes, unemployment dropped by X%) 4) Evidence that he will stand by his convictions even if they are unpopular 5) In what way is he superior to the other candidates of his party? What I don't understand is why he is in the Top 2? It seems like most people don't like this guy at all. Calling him a flip-flopper and such. I don't think McCain is that better either. But anyway. When I look at Romney I honestly just see people liking him, and wanting to vote for him because he's the guy that looks the most like a president. Mitt Romney, animal abuser or misunderstood? Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney admitted he took the family dog on vacation, but instead of traveling safely inside the car with the rest of the family, the Irish Setter (Seamus) rode on the top of the vehicle. After the 12-hour trip from Boston to Ontario, there was fecal matter on the roof and windows of the station wagon. Romney did have the dog in a carrier, but that would not have protected Seamus from airborne road debris that could have struck the dog at high speed. If a vehicle in front of you kicks up a pebble, you know how much damage that can do to your windshield. Imagine if that rock hit your dog in the face. Or what if the restraints failed and the carrier was flung from the vehicle onto the road? Common sense tells us that this is not a safe way for animals to be transported. Mitt Romney: Washington "Fundamentally Broken"? Mitt Romney says that Washington is "fundamentally broken". So where is the constitutional reform agenda? A look at the Romney website under the heading of "Issues" shows nothing related to governmental reform. Is electing him supposed to "fundamentally" change Washington? Give me a break. Is this just the Romney persona-of-the-week? This guy gives new meaning to the word mercurial. Which isn't good, since most of us don't even know the old one. Is Mitt Romney a good choice for Black people? Mitt romney is a member of the mormon religion whos doctrine teaches that blacks were "less valiant" spirits in what Mormons believe to have been a pre-earth existence. Church leaders have taught for 175 years that being born with black skin and features (the mark of Cain) was punishment by God for their "less than faithful" actions. Based on this doctrine, the Mormon Church prohibited blacks from holding the LDS Priesthood until 1978 when it lifted the ban. Mitt romney was 31 when the ban was lifted in 1978 that means he supported this doctrine before it was banned, i think if he supported this doctrine he is not a candidate that black people can trust.
Is Mitt Romney Really attacking People? I think Mitt Romney is just doing his job without trying to attack anyone personally. But does it seem like everyone else is attacking Mitt Romney mainly for personal reasons? Seems to me he is allwase on the defence when he attacks. But look at how they go behind his back and throw punches at his personal life. I will just have to vote for him now!
How will the fact that Mitt Romney is a member of the Mormon (LDS) Church effect his election chances in 2008? Religion always plays some role in an election at this level. I think it will be interesting to see how the whole thing plays out with Mitt Romney being a Mormon. One school of thought is that it will work against him, since many voters will recall some of the more negative aspects of Mormon history. This will make them pass on Romney. On the other hand, both Romney and his Church are pretty conservative. While Mormonism finds itself at odds with a lot of typical evangelical Christian doctrine, there are still common teachings. Maybe enough of that huge voting block of self-described evangelical Christians would support Mitt Romney for this reason. But then, maybe not. What do you think? Wow. Joe Scarborough defends Mitt Romney against the Media? No, this isn't about that AP guy anymore. It's about the fact that John McCain lost among Republicans in South Carolina, Nevada, Michigan, and Iowa, but that isn't the story. On the other hand, says Joe, "if it were Mitt Romney who had gotten the votes that McCain had, the story today would be that he failed to get the Republican votes in each of those states." He basically went to the bat, pointing out that Romney won among Republicans in each of those states and that McCain lost among Republicans in each. He said that the only reason that isn't the story today is that the Media likes McCain but they don't like Romney. Lest you think this is just a rant, here's my question: do you think the "liberal" media are biased against Mitt Romney and towards John McCain?
Will Gov. Mitt Romney be running on the polygamy ticket this election? I don't know why Fox News and MSNBC continue to give Governor Mitt Romney easy questions. We can't find out whether or not he will be trying to push the legality of polygamy once in the White House. One of my Law students brought up the fact that Mr. Romney is a practicing Mormon and that Mormonism was illegal in the United States due to the polygamy aspect. I mentioned that Mr. Romney's political background does not reflect his Mormon beliefs and that he appears to go with the ideals suggested by more mainstream Republicans. But every news anchor that has interviewed him has been stepping around the polygamy issue. I think that is due to the fact that polygamy is a fundamental belief of the Mormon faith. In the public eye Mr. Romney only shows off one wife but then as Dateline MSNBC showed they only expose the host wife, as not to get caught. There are those that argue that if you allow Gay marriage then to be equal you have to allow polygamy. But Gay marriage isn't legal anyway. "Mainstream Mormons rejected polygamy a long time ago". What are you talking about? The founder of radical Mormonism (Joseph Smith) was born in 1805 and any mainstream Mormonism didn't exist before him? He wasn't born that long ago so your statement doesn't make any sense (a long time ago). This country had been run by Judeo-Christian lawmakers and the Christian faith doesn't allow for polygamy or homosexuality. Joseph Smith was a disgruntled Christian and founded his own religion that would accept his sexual desire for many women. The Christian churches outlawed polygamy and that is why it has been illegal in the United States and Western Europe even hundreds of years before any form of Mormonism (radical or so-called mainstream) began or existed. Mitt Romney is a Mormon? I've read in many forums that Mitt Romney has been attending meetings in a Mormon temple. I don't know if this is true or if it's just a smear tactic from the left because the leader of the Mormon church was just arrested. Warren Jeffs of the Mormons (FLDS) is accused of statutory rape. Jeffs to the Mormons is a prophet and God's only representative on Earth. Hmm, looks like they haven't changed since the Joseph Smith days. I wonder if this will disqualify Romney from the election?
